Hi Everyone,

While I'm waiting for the next update to the awesome A-7E Mod. I'm flying the MiG-31 and F-14A mod provided in the Wings of Russia Forum.

I have a Couple of Quick Questions that I hope this forum may help in answering.

What's the approach speed for the MiG-31 in this mod? I've been flying the approaches between 350-380 Kmh with Landing Flaps. The approach and landing is doable with an acceptable landing run with the Drag Chute deployed. It feels like flying like a supersonic freight train but its lots of fun.

By the way for the casual pilots interested in the mod, the MiG-31 is no dogfighter. You take the MiG-31 to the merge with a 4th Gen fighter you are basically asking for trouble. Make sure you go Alt-W to launch override the weapon if you want to fire the R-33. No RMax indication on the HUD for the R-33 so you have to guess based on your speed and altitude 60-80 km shot should be a good reference point.

The second question is on the weapon stations on the F-14A. I noticed that weapon station 1 is on both the right and the left but there is no weapon station 6. So if I do an AIM-7M and AIM-9 Load out I get 3 AIM-7s Max and 2 AIM-9s. Any way to get the additional AIM-7 on Station 6.

I like the F-14 and you can use the CVN-77 Mod and takeoff and land on the boat.

Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated

And thanks again for the excellent mods

Cheers,

Good Post Ruddy, I tested the MIG-31 many times, and noticed that if I launch the R-33 with TWS (without ECM of course) never hit the enemy, you have to lock on him before launch to make the missile fly for the prey!

The AIM-54C is another history, I launched one in TWS to an enemy about 60 miles away, and PUMMMM, enemy out!

I noticed that on the F14 as well. In fact, the model they use is not the A model, but the D model. However, You are right about the store selection is messed up, I can't put an AIM9 on one of the wing pylon stations. I have to modify a default loadout and use that. As far as the belly stations, I haven't really messed with those too much.

It's not a mistake in loadout. This was done intentionally.

F-15 avionics can operate 11 pylons only. F-14 have 12 pylons.

If you attempt to use all the pylons, you will get game crash at mission start as a result...
