baltic_dragon Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Hi, I've opened a new version of Mission Editor and quickly flew first two missions of the Enemy Within, designed under 1.2.16. Nothing major, but I found several problems from different categories, though I think most of them would fall under Mission Editor theme (everything flown in A-10C) 1) NO CIV TRAFFIC. No matter what the settings in the mission editor or in game options, there was no civilian traffic at all. I've also created a new mission from scratch under 1.5 and had the same. Anyone else noticed that? 2) NO MAPS IN TAD. No matter what range of TAD I set, there are no maps for A-10C. The same happened when I flew the mission designed from scratch under 1.5. 3) WRONG RUNWAY GIVEN BY ATC. ATC told me to use a specific runway even though that meant having to take off with wind blowing up my tail. In 1.2.16 it was always the other (correct) one. This is worrying, as lots of the missions are designed for player to use the correct runway... 4) TEXT IN RADIO TRANSMISSIONS APPEARS ONLY FOR A VERY SHORT TIME. The text showing when custom "radio transmission" trigger is used stays on screen for roughly 5 seconds, no matter what setting in ME is used or how long the associated file is. This is annoying especially with longer radio calls. 5) MESSAGE TO... TEXT SHOWS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SCREEN On the right-hand side, though that could be on purpose (not to overlap with the Radio Transmissions text). That is all after first 2h of testing, if need be let me know and I can move these things to different parts of the bug reporting forum. For more information, please visit my website. Grimes Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Message to Text shifts down when a radio menu opens and seems to stay there. It shifts so it doesn't overlap the radio comms because it is difficult to read when a message is displayed. TAD and ATC issue were already reports. Will check out civ traffic and radio transmission sub-titles. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. baltic_dragon Posted October 1, 2015 Author Posted October 1, 2015 Thanks Grimes. I will continue testing and will report back if I find anything else. BTW, the mention of Radio Transmissions being fixed - do you know if it means that the MP bug I reported to you some time ago was taken care of? For more information, please visit my website. Be sure to test the Transmission action AI can do. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. Phantom453 Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 AC taking off the wrong way - with the wind Further to the posts above, I too have experienced aircraft taking off the wrong way to the mission set up. This appears to be to do with the wind direction setting in the ME. Aircraft are taking off with the wind, rather than into it. Switch the wind direction around 180 degrees and the aircraft will take off in the other direction (still with, rather than into the wind). I have tested this at several different airfields with the same (wrong direction) result.
baltic_dragon Posted October 4, 2015 Author Posted October 4, 2015 Yeah, noticed the need to turn the wind around. For me it means the need to change quite a lot of missions to accommodate the change, so I'd rather wait and see if it was intentional or a bug which will be fixed. I know the issue with Batumi take off direction was reported, probably that falls in the same category. For more information, please visit my website. Wizard1393 Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 I know the issue with Batumi take off direction was reported, probably that falls in the same category. At least Kobuleti also has this problem. AI aircraft taking off in the wrong dir, according to wind.
