Azazel Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 (edited) Things get pretty "skippy" for the scenery while I am at low altitudes over forests and towns. I even turned all the in game settings to "low" and turned on the flat shadows, and the problem still persists in the same way. High or Low graphics settings do not seem to effect the issue. Azazel Posted October 2, 2015 Author Posted October 2, 2015 This is true and I'm due for an upgrade, but I'm still well above the sim minimums and get really good performance with all the settings cranked up so long as I'm above 5000 AGL or so. I may pick up a newer card in the future, but I would rather wait and see if anyone else has this problem. DayGlow Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 Turn off SLI and see if it is still there. I'm running a Crossfire setup and getting the stutter when CF is enabled. Disable it and the stutter goes away. This could be a multi-GPU issue. 1 "It takes a big man to admit he is wrong...I'm not a big man" Chevy Chase, Fletch Lives 5800X3D - 64gb ram - RTX3080 - Windows 11
Azazel Posted October 3, 2015 Author Posted October 3, 2015 (edited) Oh hell yes! Issue has been identified on my end, thank-you Day Glow! This is certainly an SLI problem. For my set up once I run everything in SLI I start getting graphically issues, a little tearing, flickering of clouds, and down low stutters all while I am still getting 80-120 FPS. With SLI off and all the graphics settings maxed out I'm between 30-60 FPS down low and it is smooth as silk. Looks great ED. vicx Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 (edited) I have a GTX 780 I get what is called in "micro stutters". I think it is a VRAM thing. If I use Nvidia Inspector to monitor VRAM usage it shows that I am using ALL 3GB of VRAM ... all the time. I'm also using a HDD rather than an SSD to hold DCS so if I have to stream textures that might be causing some performance issues. Update: Setting texture resolution to LOW improved things. Already had terrain texture set to LOW. Intel i7 3820 (4 cores) | 16GB RAM | GTX780 (3GB) | Saitek x55 | 30" DELL 2560x1600 Edited October 3, 2015 by vicx
Sn8ke Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Make sure your SLI settings in Nvidia inspector are correct, and don't forget to press left alt + enter for full-screen mode. I was getting micro-stutters, and capped my Nvidia inspector frame rate limiter at 58. in game was indicating 60 fps and much smoother.
