1.5 was great but still some stupid things rise their ugly head.

 

 

 

If i make mission with say SU-25A flight for 4 clients it would be nice if AI could take empty slots when there is not enough players.

And would be nice if players could join and take control those planes later.

 

 

Difference & separation in MP/SP missions is just not good. It wont make any sense, there should be just simple check box in editor that set's unit or flight playable/not playable.

+1 for that, all the mission versions, MP / SP for same missions, etc is a real waste of HDD space and hard to keep organised when you have hundreds of missions.

 

I much prefer to play single player or MP with just a few friends, but use AI quite a bit within MP missions.

 

I am sure it will come, we just have to be patient, the single flight feature implimented in 1.5 is a welcome addition and first step to our dream.

If you want the ability to replace an AI flight, you may want to choose at mission start since some missions will adapt to the number of active clients. This way you could replace only several client flights with AI, not all of them.

 

I think you can replace a fixed number of AI flights with AI, client-able slots with current engine.

I didn't test it recently but I'm pretty sure I saw missions like that: consider an AI flight, duplicate it as client then create a trigger that will remove this AI flight if the client flight becomes active.

Yes, but that is just workaround.

+1 but let it be optionable to keep backwards compatibility with pre 1.5.x missions therefore

 

Ed must give us an extra option there

I did some diving to the old end of the wishlist subforum and I though I'd pull this back to light.

 

I remember there might have been one or two threads that had the same idea.

 

Anyway. An optional AI-if-no-client would do a lot in multiplayer missions that lack players.
