Another thing I've noticed and the under performance if Anti-Aliasing filters. with MSAA Set on 4x the close lines are jagged, the FPS is very high the distant mountains edges look great, but runways, Power lines, distance bridge outlines all look horrible. I'm not talking major distances on these runways i'm talking with in 75 to 100ft and greater. its the constant flickering of the whit noise within these edges. People may say its your video card, but truth be told its designed for DX 11 and up and well within the means to handle 120 FPS and Greater at MSSA settings of 4x with 0 drops in FPS and not have such shuttering of the edges. as per AMD with MSSA at 4x the lines should be smooth with a mild sharpness and 0 whit noise.

In-Game

All Shadows off

Water Medium

Everything else High

wait for Vertical Refresh off unless needed by app

OpenGl on

Tessellation Mode and level AMD Optimized

Frame Pacing On

Crossfire Default or 1x1 both give same results

Please note I've been testing out different settings to find the best performance for both in game and Card workload.

I don't think these settings do anything. Apart from Adaptive, which allows to antialias alpha (which destroys the framerate on my card), the various modes and filters don't do anything at all. The ingame AA setting works it's own magic regardless of overriding or enhancing it in CCC.

And there no difference on too. Just slight drops in FPS.

MSAA at 16Q looks good and runs fine for me. Anisotropic is a fps killer with my rig. However, the only place I really notice anisotropic is on the runway and since I don't spend much time there I simply leave it off.

I tried 16x msaa all I saw was a washed out runway, and the jagged edges was still there. A tried 8x msaa and 8x anisotropic and was better but with TGP off and mavs off when I hit the 150,000 preload I also noticed a 50% drop in FPS to load the screen. I think multi GPU and CPU support would fix that. Also the heavy memory usage should fix loading of new objects. CPU has 4.0ghz and GPU has 1120ghz you'd think multi GPU and CPU support would make things much more smooth.

Or just get very high Rez display :D

I have 2560x1440 rez and even 2XAA and 16XAF is enough to get rid of jaggies :)

But i agree with op, AA quality is not good as it could be , strange white noise here and there.

Cant get rid of it completely but i can live with it for now..

I completely agree, it's a Beta version. There are supposed to be issues to be ironed out. As for my display I'm only running at 1080p on a 55" Samsung 240 Hertz HD TV. But that's only for now. 4K comes next, and higher GPU's. Also with the extreme support behind DCS 1.5 I'm sure the Dev team is overwhelmed with bug reports and I'm certain ED will square away this game by its 2.0 release.

wasn't aware DCS used OpenGL or Tesselation?

That not in game settings. It's the cards settings CCC = catalyst control Center

set aa in game at 16Q then go to nvidia control panel and set AA transparency supersampling from 8 down to 4 (or below if you wish)

once i did that my FPS explode to 60 stable without any stutters at all,and the best part is that AA is super:)

@ Raptorsim...

I understand they are the CCC settings, and not In Game settings... can they be turned off? if set off, does that make a difference?

I have AMD also, raptorsim, but I don't use the CCC because I've had better results tweaking the graphics using the settings in the sim. Maybe the CCC is actually messing things up for you.

I basically turned off every setting in CCC to Use App settings, and only tweaking in-game settings. I just uploaded all the Hardware monitoring log file, images of AA issues and more to this post so the devs can see and make adjustments to the memory usage, AA, etc.

Maybe you even tried it but have you ever tried shutting down CCC before the start of DCS? Did some magic for me during the old days...

Yes I turn it off when running afterburner to record videos no change. Has anyone noticed the insane CPU usage? All 8 of my cores were running at 75% or more. RAM started at 6.5 GHz and ramped up to 8+ Ghz. I'm thinking of assigning 1 core straight to DCS to improve performance.
