New Graphics Card Recommendation Needed

Did you happen to try changing your "Res of cockpit displays to 1024 every", just wondering how you feel about that as I personally noticed a difference, but not sure what impact it has on FPS? Thanks for sharing the info also,,,

Thinking of the GTX 970 or GTX 980. Would the GTX 980 be overkill? I'm completely content with running at 1920 x 1080 res but I want high frame rates (60+) and no stutter with all settings on high (but not necessarily ultra or extreme) over the most graphics intensive areas of DCS. Maybe it isn't possible with my older machine.

I think you will have occasional drops under 60fps no matter which card you choose. At 1920x1080 I wouldn't personally go beyond the 970. The slight performance gain you would get from a 980 isn't worth the price premium.
