Greetings all! Lovin the new patch, but I did find something that has seemed off with the engine sound. Flying at max continuous (46" @ 2700 RPM) and the engine sound pops in and out. Increase engine manifold pressure will smooth the engine sound out to what you would expect it to be. Bring the throttle back down to the rated 46" on the manifold and the issue starts back up again. Full disclosure, I've had an issue with the for a while now but a buddy of mine can replicate it now as well. Anyone else see/hear this in 1.5?

A short video of the issue in the quick flight over Poti mission.

Please find attached a track of the same video, Systen.nfo and logs.

As i'm at work i can't look your video (blocked by my factory policy).

But i have some troubles with the sound in my P-51.

At 46" 2700 RPM, no problem, i hear my engine but under that... no more sound in my cockpit.

And when i hear the sound correctly, it stutters when i turne my head to look on my left or right (with my track ir)...

Youtube reports and error and cannot locate the clip, at least where I live. Track won't help, as on our systems it will play different.

All I can say the P-51 sound is rather OK on my Xonar DG and Win 7, although the cyclic stutter-like sound distortion when looking to the side, as Lib mentioned, is here as well. I remember it appeared when Fw-190 was released, as this plane was most affected by it. The issue was never fixed properly and pops up every now and then in every DCS warbird, depending on the version.

MD-44, does switching the "hear like in helmet" option on or off change anything?

A couple of us are still getting this too.

Mine manifests both as a stuttering over the current engine sound when my head is 90° either Left or Right.

I also get a problem when looking straight ahead if my Manifold Pressure drops below 32".

I get these problems on vanilla sounds and with sound mods installed.

I've run repair to no avail.

It appears to be mixing sound files according to various parameters but it's over sensitive on the head position and has completely lost it in regard to engine pressure.

It's the same with or without TrackIR.

Needs looking at.

N.B.

Audio Slider settings appear to have no effect.

I believe this problem has been around since 2012. It is erratic and comes and goes. So I don't think it is due to the 1.5 patch.

Same on two different systems, one with a sound card and other with onboard sound. Maybe it has to something to do with a closed canopy and the attempt to model sounds under that condition. If I crack the canopy open it seems ok IIRC. I'll recheck that.

Looking around with TIR I hear directional differences. No cut out when open but it will sporadically when closed.

Really haven't noticed it in other planes.
