A.P. Hill Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 (edited) Hi, I can't get the nose wheel steering to work no matter what I try to assign it too. (F-86) No button I try to assign works either on the stick or the throttle. In fact the default key (S) doesn't work either. I was making a new profile not copying and pasting as suggested. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? Thanks for any help Edited October 10, 2015 by BIGNEWY

golani79 Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 (edited) I think you need at least about ~50% on your RPM level or else it will not work. At least this is the case for me - also the left flap isn´t going to operate if you don´t have enough power. Edited October 9, 2015 by golani79 >> DCS liveries by golani79 <<
A.P. Hill Posted October 9, 2015 Author Posted October 9, 2015 Yes I am pressing and holding the key and I have 65% power. I thought it might have been my stick with a bad button but even the default key when pressed and held didn't work.
ThePutzer Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 nosewheel stearing I also thought my button on stick was wore out. So bound it to another 1, Same results, Tried using default "s" same thing, works intermittently. Thinking maybe it is a change in 1.5, maybe a "small window" in the rpm"s that makes it work an then stop workin again. Hard to believe button on stick, button on throttle, and keyboard all wore out at sametime. Maybe a issue in new version, 1.5 (bug). If a short trackfile, of me rollin straight into field of grass instead of taxiway would help the devs'. I will make a short1..Just made a track, I am convinced just a smaller rpm, Window. that engages an disengages.. I think we just got spoiled before.. Might have 2 live w/it.. Paganus Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Just tested this for the heck of it and it seems to be working fine for me holding the S key with the engine above about 53% If you think your control scheme is fouled you can copy them out of the Saved Games/DCS.openbeta/config/input folder to a safe place. When you restart the sim the controls will be defaulted. Test using the S key, and see what happens.
A.P. Hill Posted October 10, 2015 Author Posted October 10, 2015 Well, I fixed it. I previously was using all CH controllers, stick, throttle, and rudder pedals. And the rudder and nose wheel steering was working. I had then switched to my Thrustmaster Warthog stick and throttle but was still using CH pedals. I figured maybe that was a problem, mixing things. Before I did anything, I checked the operation of my CH pedals with the CH control manager just to be sure they were operating properly and they were. I then went into the mission builder made a little test mission with the F-86 and the P-51 just to check the operation of the pedals on both aircraft. The rudder pedals in both failed to work. I then went into the axis side of the controls in game, and deleted everything in there, and remapped all, Elevators, throttle and rudder. And it worked! Don’t know why but I don’t care, I can now get back to enjoying and I do mean enjoying this much improved (In my humble opinion anyway) sim! Thanks for the replies.
