msalama Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 My list is as follows: 1) Little Richard 2) Bon Scott 3) Paul McCartney 4) Elvis Presley 5) John Lennon Now, Little Rick will always be the best for me. No contest. The guy practically invented _everything_ everyone did later on, and his voice is just MADE for rocking. Plus the mofo SCREAMS when/wherever possible ;) And Bon's the obvious second, of course; just listen to vintage AC/DC and you'll know! The 3rd, however, is a hairy one, because most folks will probably think I'm blasphemous putting Macca ahead of Elvis - but the fact still remains that McCartney is a better singer, plus one HELL of a rock'n'roller when the mood hits him too. But OK, moving on to Elvis, he's obviously the King and everything, so even MORE blasphemous would've been _not_ to put him as 4th. And finally, Lennon. One of the greatest as well, but perhaps ahead of his time - darker, moodier, not at _all_ happy-go-lucky, but more SINISTER if you like, á la heavy rockers yet to come (and, it has to be said, not technically as good as the previous 4 either). OK, rant over. Discuss please ;) The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.

King_Hrothgar Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Define Rock & Roll. Do you mean 1950's guitar/drum quartets (mostly) or the "everything not country or Rap" music of 1960 to present? If the latter, then there are far too many to list, but I think Sharon Den Adel of Within Temptation is worth a mention.

Hey, all those guys are great, but are they rock'n'roll? Daltrey's more of a power/heavy rock singer, as great a band as the Who admittedly were - and Jagger, well, you could say he's rock'n'roll because the Stones are, but IS he that great a singer really? I don't think so. And Anderson? A great singer, undoubtedly, and the Tull's a great band too, but again, rock'n'roll? Not really IMO... The DCS Mi-8MTV2. msalama Posted October 16, 2015 Author Posted October 16, 2015 Define Rock & Roll. Umm, no, I won't. You'll recognize it when you hear it, right? And if you don't, well... ;) Put it this way. Is there a r'n'r artist/group on the following list IYO? 1) Iron Maiden 2) Little Richard 3) Michael Jackson The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.
King_Hrothgar Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Given your initial post, I'll go with Little Richard. So 1950's it is then, I'm largely unfamiliar with that music. Carry on.:music_whistling:
Gladman Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 I certainly agree with most of the list thus far. I'll add: Elton John (early days) Joan Jett Gordon Downie (Tragically Hip) i9 9900K @ 5.1Ghz - ASUS Maximus Hero XI - 32GB 4266 DDR4 RAM - ASUS RTX 2080Ti - 1 TB NVME - NZXT Kraken 62 Watercooling System - Thrustmaster Warthog Hotas (Virpil Base) - MFG Crosswind Pedals - Pimax 5K+ VFA-25 Fist Of The Fleet [sigpic]http://forums.eagle.ru/signaturepics/sigpic99190_2.gif[/sigpic] Virtual Carrier Strike Group 1 | Discord

Grundar Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 It's always tough to come up with an absolute favourite - Freddie Mercury though he is always near the top, wonderful singer.
