gospadin Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 So been clicking around, and I wanted to simply add a new object to the game, the Mark 54 torpedo. Simple tube, some fins, and a rounded nose, with some coloring/texture on it. What is the least expensive way to get into the basic modeling game? I looked at 3ds max, but they want $3500 for a license which is way outside my budget. Even the "rental" price of $1500/year is too much for my dabbling. Is there an easier path? I somehow thought it was just for rendering and not modeling. Now I should be able to add the Mark 54 to my USN Mi-8 skins =P My liveries, mods, and missions for DCS:World M-2000C English Cockpit | Extra Beacons Mod | Nav Kneeboard | Community A-4E

Buzzles Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Blender will have you covered for 3d modelling, but you won't be able to add to DCS with it. To add to DCS you need to export your model to DCS's formats, of which the ED supplied plugin is for 3ds Max only (as it's professional kit and the industry standard). Fancy trying Star Citizen?
