Perriwen Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 (edited) Forgive me if these are already being considered! 1.) Arrested landing systems. I see the area for the cables on the runway, but it would really be cool if you could drop the hook on say, the F-15 and snag the cables if needed...or desired, for an arrested landing. 2.) Hyper realism airspace mode for missions and the editor. If enabled, certain bases (like Groom Lake) have a few fighters on alert at all times. If you stray into the airspace, you first get warnings, then the fighters scramble to intercept or shoot you down if you fail to comply. Wingmen being assigned to attack you or fleeing the airspace against your will could also be immersive. 3.) Civil and GA traffic for the civilian airports...may already be mentioned before. Also could be cool if ATC had to be sure to route you around the McCarren airspace when operating out of Nellis and vice versa. 4.) Nellis looks so cool with the Thunderbird hanger textured, maybe some of their jets lined up outside as static models would be an awesome touch. Edited December 9, 2015 by Perriwen
_Acoustic_ Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 1) Not sure about the coding/animations etc but first things first, a 3D model of the gear is needed. 2) Should be able to make some of that work in the ME and the use of scripts. 3) Been mentioned a lot, who knows what will happen, its alpha still. Also, ATC seems to be going through a major overhaul which will be great to see. 4) If you get the skin, you could do it in the ME: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2590350&postcount=203

AMEDooley Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 That's not what it's for at Nellis, emergencies only. Even NAS Lemoore's gear was just for emergencies. The runway however did have the ladder lines and wires painted on it for FCLP. So when we practiced carrier landing on the beach it was done like that. They did have a LSO guiding them down like they do on the boat but they don't practice actual traps on land outside of Pax River that I'm aware of. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I know, I was just trying to expand on your comment about the wires being there for emergencies only. And that even on bases that have the Cairrer Ops aircraft they only use the wires for emergencies. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Snoopy Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Just curious. Do you check brakes working before taxing? Not sure what you're getting at but yes brakes are checked as part of an A-10 launch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk v303d Fighter Group Discord | Virtual 303d Fighter Group Website
=Mac= Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 ... I recognize the AME part. I was AMH. :) The Hornet is best at killing things on the ground. Now, if we could just get a GAU-8 in the nose next to the AN/APG-65, a titanium tub around the pilot, and a couple of J-58 engines in the tail...
