bunraku Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 Hi. Just got the warthog from Santa and the other buttons are moving on the throttle and. Stick, but not the trim. So I'm finding it a bugger to fly level. Have i got some sort of autopilot engaged preventing trimming? Thanks
BaconSarnie Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 Have you checked that it is fully working in windows, all buttons etc? Also check keybindings in game to make sure it is set up properly. You might have to redo some binds 1 And lo, Reverend Vegas did say "Take forth unto the infidel the mighty GAU 8 and expend its holy 30MM so that freedom will be brung upon them who knoweth not the joys of BBBBBBBRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRTTTTTTTTTT" "Amen"
dburne Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 Also check for any duplicate button assignments, by default it can assign some crazy stuff like the same button across multiple controllers. bunraku Posted December 25, 2015 Author Posted December 25, 2015 OK I will, but my understanding was it was pretty much plug and play with the A-10C.
hansangb Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 It is plug and play, but duplicate assignments can be a problem with updates, prior assignments etc. . Also check windows control panel to make sure all buttons are functional. 1 hsb HW Spec in Spoiler --- i7-10700K Direct-To-Die/OC'ed to 5.1GHz, MSI Z490 MB, 32GB DDR4 3200MHz, EVGA 2080 Ti FTW3, NVMe+SSD, Win 10 x64 Pro, MFG, Warthog, TM MFDs, Komodo Huey set, Rverbe G1
bunraku Posted December 25, 2015 Author Posted December 25, 2015 Ok cleared everything I can see and no luck. It definitely works as I can see it in windows moving although it says a POV button. but in cockpit nothing. I have attached all my settings as PDF's. Can anyone see anything obvious. Really desperate to fix as this was my main xmas pressie and it's spoiling my day. :) I also have to start working out as compared to my old Saitek X-52 Pro these are literally no pushovers!! dburne Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 (edited) It has a modifier assigned to your trim, ie LCtrl. To use your POV hat as trim, you would need to remove that as modifier, or hold LCtrl down whilst moving the hat. If you want just the POV hat as trim, just go in and clear those assignments out and reset them for the trim to the POV hat. BaconSarnie Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 He's correct, LCTRL+ Rebind it without the modifier and you should be golden And lo, Reverend Vegas did say "Take forth unto the infidel the mighty GAU 8 and expend its holy 30MM so that freedom will be brung upon them who knoweth not the joys of BBBBBBBRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRTTTTTTTTTT" "Amen"
dburne Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 Thanks guys. Will try tonight. You are welcome - that should do it , be sure and let us how you make out it with. hansangb Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 Yeah, the trim function is the only one that's not plug-n-play because it defaults to moving the camera view around, I believe. hsb HW Spec in Spoiler --- i7-10700K Direct-To-Die/OC'ed to 5.1GHz, MSI Z490 MB, 32GB DDR4 3200MHz, EVGA 2080 Ti FTW3, NVMe+SSD, Win 10 x64 Pro, MFG, Warthog, TM MFDs, Komodo Huey set, Rverbe G1
bunraku Posted December 25, 2015 Author Posted December 25, 2015 Ok. Removing LCTRL worked. Thanks guys. Next question. I have TIR5 and although you can zoom in by moving your head, when using guns I like to go as close as I can to the HUD as possible which TIR doesn't do. I had this assigned to the slider on my X-52 Pro and I used a button for centering my view. So if any of you have the hotas and TIR what button on the hotas do you use for centering and can you suggest a zoom in button? I may have to download the thrustmaster software to assign as a shifted function I appreciate. Thanks

I am not currently flying the A-10C, I played around with it some time ago, but it is next on my hit list to learn when I am finished with learning the KA-50. Does the default A-10C config use the throttle slider button ( the gray slider)? If not might be a good use for it to assign as an axis for zooming? It has that nice center detent as well. bunraku Posted December 25, 2015 Author Posted December 25, 2015 Great minds!! I was already thinking of the grey slider for zooming in and out and the am thinking of 2 possible buttons for centre view. One is the Red Throttle Button and the other is the one hidden by a long black lever on the joystick at the base that your pinky can use(don't know the name). I am not sure if either button has a function already assigned.
dburne Posted December 26, 2015 Posted December 26, 2015 That gray button behind the paddle is for NWS IIRC ( engage nose wheel steering) in the A-10C , at least by default. Certainly does not mean you have to use it for that. Sokol1_br Posted December 26, 2015 Posted December 26, 2015 Zoom In out in trigger 1st stage. Add TIR key center. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=79705
bunraku Posted December 26, 2015 Author Posted December 26, 2015 Thank Sokol. That's my next step. Ok I am fairly ok with saiteks software, but new to Target. All I am wanting is one button configured. The S4 pinkie button to do the command F9. I am sure I have done it right, but when I test it nothing happens.Screenshot below showing my programming mehod. I also installed the drivers from TM, although I don't think they were required. It now makes the 2 found/unplugged new hardware beeps when I test and come out of testing. I'm not sure if normal. Programming. Testing no result.

It makes the connected and disconnected beeps, because when you run a TARGET program it creates a new virtual controller and disconnects the two physical controllers. Regarding your F9 command, my first thought is maybe because might be a conflict if F9 is assigned by default in the game controller menu to something else... Why not just assign the button directly in the Track IR software? That is what I did, also then it helps prevent any conflict with using those default function keys. Edit: Also when you test , how are you testing in the game? Or clicking on event tester and viewing the result then when you press the button? It will not display anything on that screen showing in your pic. You can click on event tester and there it will show you the key generated by the button press, with the program running. bunraku Posted December 26, 2015 Author Posted December 26, 2015 Had TIR5 or 5 years and never knew you could assign a joystick key and always thought it had to be keyboard. What an @sshole!! At least that is centering sorted. Thanks Dburne Now for zoom. I have never heard of or used autokey before. I have installed and downloaded both scripts, but am not sure what I am doing in relationship to my warthog hotas. So if Sokal or someone else can talk me through it I'd appreciate it. Thanks

Sorry you've lost me. I'm not sure what you are wanting me to do. On the link you posted there is a long code. I'm not sure of this is what you want me to do something with or follow the advance targeting script under the code? Either way I haven't a clue what to do with the code? Isn't there a do load for a profile like the Saitek software? Again thanks for your help.
