we managed to use a 3G connexion with access restricted the master server only (so pilots are not using the 3g connexion to brownse the internet) and it is working great with 40+ pilots on line.

You use a single cell phone to connect out to the Master Server? and that is the only connection to the Internet for your whole LAN crowd?

Visit the Hollo Pointe DCS World server -- an open server with a variety of COOP & H2H missions including Combined Arms. All released missions are available for free download, modification and public hosting, from my Wrecking Crew Projects site.

Nope. You need a connection to ED master server to have the licences checked. Was a big hassle when they set this up first, but then we managed to use a 3G connexion with access restricted the master server only (so pilots are not using the 3g connexion to brownse the internet) and it is working great with 40+ pilots on line.

do you think making the DCS server having to internet, while all the DCS client computers point to the DCS server as a gateway sufficient?

Everyone on the lan must have access to internet. You just need to restrict the internet access (well, if you don't want to blow up your 3g/4g subscription of course). You can use a 3g laptop configured as an internet gateway for example. You also have 3g routers that you can plug on a large array of switches. We were using one dedicated for dcs server and another dedicated for internet access. So I don't know if you can have one pc that can do both. But why not.

Overall, for a 4 days lan with about 35 pilots, the internet traffic is very small (was a few megabytes, can't remember exactly how much, but nothing to worry with a basic 4g subscription).
