While this may not sound helpful, I find that making your own profile is probably the best thing you can do for yourself. I know this may sound dismissive and I don't meant it to be but it is true.

When I got my first HOTAS, I tried downloading profiles that others had made only to find that it often really only got me a profile that did not meet my personal needs. It made learning the aircraft harder since I had to memorize not only how to do stuff in the plane but also where someone else mapped controls to.

On top of that, I also found that I was spending a lot of time trying to find someone else to do the work for me when I could have done my own in a fraction of of that time.

Look, I know it looks intimidating but once you do it a couple of times, it becomes very simple and saves you a lot of time as opposed to trying to track down someone else's profile.

Seriously, making your own is the best way, there is no better time to start than now.

Hmmm, I should donate these somewhere a bit more useful to newcomers but....

Here's my x52 profiles for all modern DCS modules and FC3 including a WIP M-2000C profile and a profile and key file for Falcon BMS 4.33.

All the profiles are painstakingly and anally crafted so as to give the best possible 'standard' for common and similar controls. You'll have to change the view reset button to whatever keys you use for TrackIR centering then you're good to go.

You'll never have to touch your keyboard outside of radios and hitting escape, 2 modifiers used (pinkie and Fire D) to jam in the goodness :O

And here's and old no TrackIR version (no M-2000C).

These would be great for the overwhelmed newcomers, I just have no idea where to post them (apart from here). If someone tells me where to do this, and if enough people like them I'll keep them updated.

I agree.

Except for the A10C :O

I'm currently trying to map controls for the M2000C to my HOTAS warthog, and learn the functions again. It has been a little while since I flew the M2000.

Does anyone know of any real world info on the HOTAS controls on the real jet?

Cheers,

Here is my current X-55 profile for M-2000C.

It's designed to be as close as possible to the real one.

Import the .lua in DCS command setup interface.

PS: It's better with download link.:music_whistling:

That setup seems really, really random to me. I can't imagine how you keep it straight. Generally I group like functions together. Thus I have all 4 radar slew controls on a 4 way hat on the throttle, I also have the 4 stores buttons on another 4 way hat and I use the buttons for the top/bottom rotaries as my chaff and flares. The rest of my setups for aircraft in DCS and other sims all follow similar conventions and are often identical or nearly identical.

Like I said in first place, I like to replicate real HOTAS logic.

But logic is something quite personal.

Moreover there are few HOTAS command still missing, it will be better when available.
