This one is fairly low priority all things considered, but I've noticed the exhaust nozzle starts in the closed position and only opens as you get into afterburner.

 

Typically the nozzle is wide open at idle throttle as not to produce any thrust, it will close as throttle in increased and then open again as you get into the burner.
