Neon67 Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 (edited) I did just a small test when switching the flight profile to AA while having a payload of all possible bombs attached to the wing Started accelerating to 550 Knots then pulled hard on the stick, except the first alarm , the entire aircraft is still brand as new, weapons still attached to the pylons even while pulling up to 9 Gs Flying inverted for a long period of time doesn't kill the engine Doing negative Gs for a short period of time put the pilots into a strong black-out, that he stays asleep until the plane hita the sand minutes after What about wheels brake overheat and overstress ? Ktulu2 Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Did you try with the 2 2000L tanks instead of bombs? I do DCS videos on youtube : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAs8VxtXRJHZLnKS4mKunnQ?view_as=public
Deezle Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Doing negative Gs for a short period of time put the pilots into a strong black-out, that he stays asleep until the plane hita the sand minutes after Yes, because the FBW will hold the plane in negative G after you pass out, you'll never wake up. I do not know if this is intended behavior, but that's what is happening. luckyhendrix Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Yes, because the FBW will hold the plane in negative G after you pass out, you'll never wake up. This implies that the input from the pilot stay the same, but if he passes out he should let go of the stick and the negative g will stop
Deezle Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Well, the FBW will hold the plane in a climb or a bank just the same when you release the stick, it's not outside the realm of possibility it will hold some negative G too (I've only done this while inverted, it may not hold a negative G while "upright"). gospadin Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 In my testing, the presence of fuel tanks prevents the AA/AG switch from having any effect. If I jettison the tanks, then I can do 9G in AA mode but am limited to ~6.1G in AG mode. AJaromir Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 If I know right, the FBW holds 1G and by joystick input you are changing the value. So when you release the stick, then the FBW system should set aircraft back to 1G position.
