VTJS17_Fire Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Hi, if I do the ramp start according to the manual, my aircraft accelerates a little despite activating the handbrake/ wheelbrake. At 73% RPM the aircraft flips a few feet. A friend discovered, that this don't happen, if the emergency hydraulic pump is on before the engine starts. But according to the manual, this emergency pump have to be activated later. Is this a bug or a issue in the manual/ ramp start procedure? Azrayen Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Are you sure you use the parking brake? Holding the wheel brakes (pedals) won't do. Different hydraulics.
VTJS17_Fire Posted December 29, 2015 Author Posted December 29, 2015 Yep, using the parking break. Nealius Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Confirm as well. Parking break engaged, aircraft lunges forward a few feet on startup.
nomdeplume Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 I think I've only had this happen once; maybe it's dependent on weather? Cooler temperatures should result in more thrust, so maybe the initial surge can be enough to override the parking brake in some conditions? Are you using the DCS World 1.5 beta or 2.0 alpha?
nomdeplume Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 What are you turning on prior to the starting engine? I (literally) just read a post that mentioned this: Thanks Chuck, great work! The checklist from this M2000 manual has the Batt TRN Alt1 and Alt2 all being switched on as the first item. Dassault/mirage2000/manuel-pilote Page 127. I know you must at least have the Batt and TRN on for the parking brake to work as the engine accelerates past idle during start otherwise you lurch forward. This is different to the procedure in the manual which I think assumes a ground power cart is being used. Maybe it makes a difference? I think I pretty much always turn TRN on at the very start.
Nealius Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 I just tried the startup procedure as per Chuck's guide and the brake worked. That must be why.
AJaromir Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Same here, but what more. When I also have any payload loaded, then after engine start will lit some warnings on landing gear panel and won't turn off.
