Still climbing, now on a north-eastern course towards the target area. The next two contain mild spoilers. JDAM drop from above the clouds. I guess the markpoint was pretty spot-on. Sorry to ruin your day, guys. :D JTAC Warrior has a great view of the camp. Anvil convoy is mopping up inside the camp. On the way back, a good bit lighter now. Wingmen getting back in formation. Please let me know if there are any problems viewing them!) Some screens from a mission called "Birds of Prey". Overlord taking off while my flight is starting up. Some allied F-16s taxi to the dearming bays after an early morning sortie, with my flight taxiing to the runway right behind them. All the action hidden inside a SPOILER: Schaefer in TGP Dammit, that's close. Need to kill that MBT! Pontiac flight has expanded a lot of rockets (as in: all of them :D) After we get the all clear, climb out from the AO. Close to Winchester myself (but still 870 rounds in the gun, and 2 Mk-5 rockets). :) CSAR chopper outbound with Schaefer on board. Yurgon Posted January 15, 2016 Author Share Posted January 15, 2016 Great screenshots, firewings! :thumbup: Because of a request from another thread, I flew "The Falcons and the Hogs" once more and this time took some nice pictures. ;) Approaching the training targets. Marking them with Willy Pete (Mk-156 rocket). Colt 1-1, an F-16, fires a Maverick (and another one in the same pass). While the first one hits, the second is inbound. Glad my mark isn't too far off. Just a moment later, Colt 1-2 makes history of the remaining training target. Now that they're all lit up, they're much easier to spot in the TGP. :) But then... ... a huge explosion shatters the city of Kutaisi. The bad guys have another attack planned for the coastal town of Poti - but not if I can help it! I want Colt flight to destroy the target right near that forest, to the top left of his canopy in this screenshot. A nice, long stretch of road with absolutely no innocents nearby... Perfect. Absolutely perfect. Give'em hell! I'm sure this part of the road will need some fixing. I got a little too adventurous and ignored the hard-deck. Got SADL, CICU and CDU shot up. Took me ages to kill those trucks while my wingman took out the enemy tanks. Finally back to the primary objective - the TGP is still operational and so the GBU-31 is going exactly where it's supposed to. ;) Ka-boom! Headed... roughly back home. Nav is more or less gone, no TACAN signal yet, can't see the Black Sea... but I think I'm more or less on the right track. Finally, TACAN active, only 40 miles to go. I'd started to worry slightly about the fuel. Well, that explains a few things. Target destroyed, let's get the hell back. Our Israeli friends launch a CAP. CAP at 1 o'clock and closing, MiGs still far away... looks like we should be safe. Meanwhile another striker gets hit, probably from an Igla or Stinger. A scout is airborne within minutes. CSAR chopper takes a little longer. The mosque near the crash site is defended by Zu-23s. My wingman is tasked with taking them out. By which I meant "without having them empty all their ammo into your jet"... At least he got out. Actually, he's within a few hundred meters from Colt 1-2, so let's pretend they're getting rescued together... :music_whistling: Meanwhile, Springfield (OH-58 recon) decides to test the air defenses as well. :wallbash: "Oh, look how close that was!" Yes, the AI isn't that bright, thanks for pointing it out, moron. :D One gunner soon to be gone. After the AO is cleared, Pontiac comes in and saves everyone's day. Heading away from the mosque, with Colt 1-2 and Dodge 1-2 safely on board. ;) Seen a lot of action down there in the past couple of days... Time to grab a cold beer.
