Rocket / Gun Pipper (Air2Ground)

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys,

I got some trouble with the rocket and gun pipper in the air to ground mode. Sometimes the rocket aiming pipper simply doesn't show up. Sometimes its

there but it seems to aim to far down ---> rockets will hit far behind the target...

Anybody else experienced that?

The gun pipper seems to be even more messed up. It only appears during a turn and moves across the HUD, far far in the sky...:huh::huh:

Not sure if the gun pipper isn't modeled yet, because I didn't see a tutorial or something that shows it working.

As the avionics of the M-2000C aren't much complicated, I shouldn't need more than 3 switches to attack ground Targets, or am I wrong?

With radar on and Master Arm on, I select: gun CAS , Radar TAS-Mode, HUD air to ground mode (which seems to not change anything) and perhaps activate the Radar Altimeter...

BTW:

This "petite francaise" is so damn sexy! Want to see her in stockings on higheels:megalol:

But first of all: PLEASE MAKE HER MORE DEADLY FIRST! ragarding all the weapon systems.

The gun pipper is completely messed up - known bug, so don't worry about it.

TAS mode for radar ranging doesn't work properly, use [edit:] RS mode instead which will use the radar altimeter - obviously this will have inaccuracies if you're not on completely level terrain.

The weapons system is very simple, yes. You can adjust the weapon release quantity and impact spacing (latter not yet implemented) but that's about it. I don't think the release quantity affects the rockets [yet?] though.

What do you mean by "HUD air to ground mode"? It doesn't have one - HUD has off, on, test settings. You can select rockets from the PCA panel, listed as RQ1 or something like that.

All aiming modes seem a little/lot innaccurate at present though - so probably don't stress too much until the radar ranging is properly implemented.

The radar altimeter for calculate the distance to ground shouldn't be the RS mode on PCA? The CAS is for use cannons on ground if I'm not wrong.

You're right.

My question is: Does TAS or RS affects also cannons for AG? If i remember correctly for use cannons in AG you should select the AG pipper (CCLT or PRED in the HUD controls panel) The CCLT should be like a continuos calculated solution for shooting, meanwhil the PRED should be for AA. Does it is correct?

Nope, is the other way around.

TAS and RS are specifically for AG.

I don't know what is the effect of PRED - PREDefined (not "predicted"), probably a reticle at a fixed distance.

edit, quick note: TAS/RS selects the method of ranging for A-G gun and rockets, TAS is with radar, RS with radio altimeter

Also, CCLT mean Calcul Continu de la Ligne de Traceur, which is Continuously Computed Tracer Line, which is, I think, the A-A gun snake.

I think there's an error in the tooltip (that says Gun AG reticle selector), this is most likely for A-A. In the real M-2000C manual all CCLT references are under Air-Air use.
