Exo7 Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 (edited) Hi All, i have a real U/VHF Radio Panel from a mirage. i can see that the Channel Encryption (E+A2 / R) switch is not a 2 ways switch ON/OFF (or ON/ON), it's a 3 ways switch MOM/OFF/MOM. Same for the test button is not a ON/OFF but MOM/OFF with light inside. is there a feature of the module or a mistake ? Thx Edit : you can find a picture here : Edited January 12, 2016 by Exo7 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
derelor Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 This is interesting. I was just collecting info on this panel for a bug report. - "COM" label missing - Two knobs are missing cutouts - PaL -> Pal (2x) - SIL: ON and OFF labels missingI wonder why on your device the SIL ON/OFF labels are missing that can be seen in the manual... 1338 - beyond leet ED Forum rules EN|DE|RU
gospadin Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 What are E+A2/R referring to? What are the M/P/G transmit modes? Do you know the full name of the receive modes? AR/Pal/Pal+G/F1/H ? Exo7 Posted January 12, 2016 Author Posted January 12, 2016 What are E+A2/R referring to? What are the M/P/G transmit modes? Do you know the full name of the receive modes? AR/Pal/Pal+G/F1/H ? E+A2 / R is for encryption of the communication. it's a protocol to encrypt the transmit/receive M is for Manual (select the frequency by coding wheels) P is for Preset (the big knob in the right) where frequencies are predefined by pilots (see 1st pic) G is for Guard (military frenquency is 243MHz) it's coded inside the radio panel (see 2nd pic) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
gospadin Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 E+A2 / R is for encryption of the communication. it's a protocol to encrypt the transmit/receive Thanks, but do you know what E stands for? Exo7 Posted January 12, 2016 Author Posted January 12, 2016 don't know for E+A2 or R ... maybe the code of the protocol... so AR is for "Arret" (Off) Pal is for "Principal" (Main) Pal + G is for "Principal + Garde" (Main + Guard) don't know for F1 or H... Azrayen Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 (edited) E+A2 / R is for encryption of the communication. it's a protocol to encrypt the transmit/receive No. It's a test function (I know the manual says otherwise... it needs to be corrected). ;) Put the switch in R then press the red test button to test Réception (receiver). Put the switch in E then press the red test button to test Émission (emitter). I don't know what A2 means, I know it's related to emission/gonio. AR is for "Arret" (Off) Pal is for "Principal" (Main) Pal + G is for "Principal + Garde" (Main + Guard) don't know for F1 or H... Correct. :) In Pal + G you have indeed double reception (your receive and may speak on your set frequency, and you will receive (monitor) Guard at the same time). F1 stands for Fréquence 1; a kind of fixed preset frequency (set on the ground), perhaps used for voice or data? Not sure. H stands for Homing. It's not very much used IRL AFAIK. ++ Az' [edit] PS: Derelor, I've added a note to your ticket. Edited December 18, 2016 by Azrayen

QuiGon Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 (edited) H stands for Homing. It's not very much used IRL AFAIK. Is radio homing it implemented in the M2000? How would I have to use it? Select homing frequency and switch to H?
