Appreciate everyone's input and thoughts but.. It's going round in circles too with no higher input.. ED Team BIGNEWY Posted February 14, 2016 ED Team Posted February 14, 2016 ED are always looking at optimising the engine, testers have to experience or reproduce the issue before they can make a report, so it is all about getting feedback from users who are experiencing the problem, and I can assure you ED are aware of the issue, but if you are wanting constant feedback, its just not going to happen. Here is a link to my settings for the openalpha, these are the settings I use for online play, so you my think they are a little low for my system, but I prefer high frame rates for online play. http://forums.eagle.ru/album.php?albumid=1161 I do not get any stutter at all with these settings. ED Team BIGNEWY Posted February 14, 2016 ED Team Posted February 14, 2016 red flag runs great, like I have said I do not have any stutter, and my frame rates generally are 100+, 50 is the lowest I have seen Forum rules - DCS Crashing? gazmonalpha Posted February 14, 2016 Author Posted February 14, 2016 Let's be honest think this is sounding like general PC horsepower problem for most Got to be about PC specs Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk System Specs, Core i7 950 OC 4.2Ghz, 1.5TB Hdd, MSI GTX 980 Ti, 24GB Ram, WIN 10 64 Bit, 1000w PSU ,Trackir5, Thrustmaster Warthog:)
Enduro14 Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 I I'll have to agree because at 1080p its ultra smooth. But my screen resolution is 4K so currently I just blame the 980's for being to weak. Shadows flat only is key but wish and guess this is a feature request we could have all flat shadows outside aircraft but in the pit still have the dynamic shadows inside pit. ED Team BIGNEWY Posted February 14, 2016 ED Team Posted February 14, 2016 Let's be honest think this is sounding like general PC horsepower problem for most Got to be about PC specs Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk And that is the main problem with finding a resolution for the problem, everyone's machine is different, with different settings, and hardware, so finding a fix that will suit everyone is a difficult task. Like I have said ED are always looking at optimisation, so there is hope. Forum rules - DCS Crashing? fulcrum_64th Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 (edited) +1 in terms of stutters. Redglyph Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 (edited) Hum, I'm baffled. I removed the page file (set to 0 in Windows), and still getting the same rate of page faults. But my interpretation was wrong, the page faults may also occur for other reasons like demand-zero pages and copy-on-write, so it's hard to reach any conclusion. In any case, it doesn't seem to solve the problem, those stutters must come from something else. Replaying a track gives the same stuttering. That makes me wonder... if you watch Bunyap's videos they are quite smooth, yet it's the same hardware; we don't know the DCS settings he's using though. I first thought it might be smooth if that's a replay, but apparently it's not. Yes, it'd be good to see what are the known problems, and whether the devs need input from us (I don't think they have a huge variety of PC's to test on). Maybe there's a thread with that somewhere, and we missed it? Please if you are having stutters, post your ingame settings, and your pc spec. Keep this thread on topic and constructive. thanks Yes, that's exactly what I was trying to say... users don't give enough details unfortunately. But would other data be useful in that case? Usually they require the DCS log, I can post one, even the msinfo if that contains more useful info than what was already given. EDIT: added logs: DCS.log, msinfo and dxdiag (it was a bit tricky since these forums won't accept .log files, nor .7z files...)logs.zip Edited February 14, 2016 by Redglyph System specs: Win7 x64 | CPU: i7-4770K | RAM: 16 GB | GPU: GTX 980 Ti 6 GB | Thrustmaster HOTAS | MFG rudder pedals | SATA3 SSD | TrackIR

BitMaster Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 Install MSI-Afterburner, check virtual memory to show in OSD and watch how DCS alwas uses around 10-12GB swapfile, regardless of what u selected in OS. Ram and Swap is always about half/half. 10-12 GB each according to MSI. Mind you, countercheck in taskmanager and it says about 3GB for Dcs all the time whereas it consumes well beyond 10GB All tests done online @ 104th in Ka-50 Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk Gigabyte Aorus X570S Master - Ryzen 5900X - Gskill 64GB 3200/CL14@3600/CL14 - Sapphire Nitro+ 7800XT - 4x Samsung 980Pro 1TB - 1x Samsung 870 Evo 1TB - 1x SanDisc 120GB SSD - Heatkiller IV - MoRa3-360LT@9x120mm Noctua F12 - Corsair AXi-1200 - TiR5-Pro - Warthog Hotas - Saitek Combat Pedals - Asus XG27ACG QHD 180Hz - Corsair K70 RGB Pro - Win11 Pro/Linux - Phanteks Evolv-X
Enduro14 Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 These stutters in red flag I don't think are dependent on hardware to a certain degree, it's a constant hitch every 5 to 10 seconds. Will test at lower resolution to confirm Intel 8700k @5ghz, 32gb ram, 1080ti, Rift S
