mytai01 Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 I entered a start time of 0300, but I think the computer thought I meant 3 PM, when I meant 3 AM. How do I set mission start for 3 AM? Doesn't this game use 24 hour military time!?! MadDog-IC Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 Doesn't this game use 24 hour military time!?! Yes it does use 24 hour format, but current bug in 1.52 has the time out by a few hours or the wrong day. I saw this with a mission I ported from v1.216 to 1.52, with no changes between the missions: 1.216 was at 0600 (dawn) with sun just coming up and in the v1.52 it was still pitch black night, advanced the time on v1.52 to 0800 to get the same sunrise. Regards, Ian. I think I figured it out. I did something unheard of and read the DCS World Documentation and learned some strange facts about this simulator. Everything starts on June 1st!!! They must use a different fiscal year than we do... Anyway, the time is HH:MM:SS/day of the year counted consecutively from June 1st (June 1st is day 0). The last day of May is 365. Sunrise and Sunset and Moon is affected by the time of year as well as the time of day. I bet it's also affected by the latitude as well. For example, in the Northern US the Sun can be high in the sky even at 10 pm during the Summer, but it would be completely dark at the Equator on the same line of Longitude at the exact same time. dburne Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 I seem to be struggling with this, in DCS 2.0 I have really just started learning the ME, and have created a mission just flying from Vegas to Groom Lake, with some waypoints in between - doing a cold start from ramp at Nellis. I have modified my start time to early am, first I tried 6, then 5, but it seems to always start at noon. When I launch the mission the briefing always shows the start time as 12:00. What might I be missing? I am clicking to save mission when I make the start time change...
