The fact that there are only 4 airfields currently and they are contained in a single 130km long strip of dirt deserves a mention. I say that as an NTTR fan, I highly recommend it to my fellow whirlybird flyers.

Its not a warzone map thats for sure. The map will be more suited for terorrist missions, rescue missions, city riots and training overall.

With the F15 NTTR campaign this map takes on a whole different feel, you get the feeling what it's there for and what the training ground is all about.

That map can be used for anything you want it to be...It IS used as a WARzone map all the time. I guilt a mission that kept 5 guys occupied for 2 hours the other day in about 45 minutes. Just takes a little imagination.

What I meant is war simulation between two countries with border crossing. Nevada is not suited for it. You can do a fictional scenario for sure but it will not make much sence, unless you would make one of side countries the enemy and the map would expand that way in future.

IRL this area seems to work fine for United States Air Force, United States Navy, United States Marine Corps, United States Army and NATO allies in Red Flag etc. I can't see why it would be any worse in the DCS world compared to using the Black Sea map? Seems to me the NTTR map could substitute for any number of real world desert theater of operations. What am I missing?

YES! After playing Red Flag 16-2, I get a real sense of what Nevada is all about and true planning and discipline in flying, it's awesome. HOWEVER... It has only left me wondering ... IMAGINE what this map would be like if all those other aircraft (F18, F16, GR4, F15E) involved in Red Flag were flyable, my goodness, there'd be no matching this sim.
