Hi,

I'm new to DCS and having all kinds of little setup trouble. One is the View Zoom.

I have it setup on as Axis on the little thumb slider on X52 pro throttle.

I'm used to it from other games, but here it is very 'jumpy' i.e. when I zoom in, the zoom level is does not stay stable, but jumps arround a bit. Makes zoomed in tracking of the target almoust impossible and drives me crazy.

Is there any way to smoothen that out? Tried to play arround with axis curve, but no help.

How do you guys recommend to bind to zoom?

I have track-ir for looking arround.

cheers,

Use mouse stick as bands and bind to the extremes of the band the keys "/" and "*"...works REALLY well, no jitter and zoom is smooth as butter...

thanks for the reply and sorry, that just went beyond my understanding.

How do you set the mouse stick as bands and bind the extremes to the keys?

Somewhere in DCS control settings or some other SW like saitek drivers?

anyway, did bind the zoom to the little hat switch on the throttle. Thisway also butter smooth, just have to get used to the hat instead of the slider.

The problem is a firmware issue with the Warthog that has never, and likely never will be fixed. Simply disable the LED backlighting on the throttle (which you can do in TARGET GUI without running TARGET scripts while you're flying) and the zoom will be rock-solid.

Whoops! I reacted because that's a common Warthog issue and didn't notice the X52 comment. My bad!

You need to use the Saitek profile software for this.

You can do the same for the slider, if you want to use that for zoom or other buttons.

As you experienced, the slider is quite jittery when used as an axis.

Warthog HOTAS w/150mm extension, Slaw pedals, Gametrix Jetseat, TrackIR for monitor use

This mean that you are using the "slider" as ON/OFF button, so need the joy' soft to set axis to press keys...

Thanks guys, I get the idea. So far I have managed to avoid STT, but I guess now I get to play arround with it ;-)
