SFC Tako Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 Why don't they just make it available at Steam? What's the glitch? My Semi-Pro Youtube Channel
EliteKatze Posted February 25, 2016 Author Posted February 25, 2016 Why don't they just make it available at Steam? What's the glitch? I thought the same. Maybe it has something to do with the fact, that the m2000 wasn't made by ED themselves, but razbam
SFC Tako Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 They oughta get with the program - pretty much all other 3rd party developers have their modules on Steam. And they make bank with'em. My Semi-Pro Youtube Channel
SkateZilla Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 (edited) Criticizing a 3rd party over availability through the steam distribution platform isn't gonna fly. That being said, Steam will likely not have any Modules on Day 1 Like the ED Shop, Simply because the ED Shop / 3rd Parties make it available for "Early Access" on the EShop doesnt mean it will be on Steam's Distribution. As for Making bank.. is that before or after Steam take's their cut? Drag0nWIng Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 steam will share the income and the producer wants player buy their module from their site. Will, just wait some days.
SFC Tako Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 Criticizing a 3rd party over availability through the steam distribution platform isn't gonna fly. How do you mean exactly? Do you work there? That being said, Steam will likely not have any Modules on Day 1 Like the ED Shop, Simply because the ED Shop / 3rd Parties make it available for "Early Access" on the EShop doesnt mean it will be on Steam's Distribution. Never said the opposite. As for Making bank.. is that before or after Steam take's their cut? Steam doesn't take any "cut" - the buyer pays the fee. My Semi-Pro Youtube Channel
SkateZilla Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 (edited) How do you mean exactly? Do you work there? Not sure what you mean, has nothing to do with anything other than the fact that criticizing the RB or ED Team over something not available on steam yet, " Get with the Program ", "What's the Glitch"... etc etc... Never said the opposite. Not sure what this means either, Pretty clear when I stated, that Early Access on ED's Shop does not mean it would/should be released on steam at the same time. Steam doesn't take any "cut" - the buyer pays the fee. Steam most certainly does take a cut. However to "entertain" your statement: If it's 59.99 on ED Shop and 59.99 on Steam. Even if Buyer pays the fee, it's coming out of the price of the module. Conclusion, Steam takes a cut. Fer_Fer Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 Cut of Valve on software distributed through Steam is IIRC 30%
Foul Ole Ron Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 Cut of Valve on software distributed through Steam is IIRC 30% Yep - 30% goes to Steam and why big players like EA don't use Steam any more for their AAA titles like Battlefield. Using Origin is a bit of a PITA for users but it makes total sense for EA.

Drag0nWIng Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 The business between owner and salesman doesn't need consumer to care about. That's all business and marketing problem.
KesMonkey Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 Yep - 30% goes to Steam and why big players like EA don't use Steam any more for their AAA titles like Battlefield. Using Origin is a bit of a PITA for users but it makes total sense for EA. This warrants further explanation. EA wanted to sell DLC for Dragon-Age 2 via an in-game shop, bypassing the Steam store (and bypassing the 30% fee). Valve didn't agree to this. According to EA, it was Valve that removed EA's games from the Steam store, not EA. That's the only publicly available information on the subject. By the way, you said "big players", implying that there's another big player other than EA that no longer sells new release games through Steam. Can you name another one? AFAIK, EA is the only "big player" to ever have their games removed from the Steam store.
