colubridae Posted August 5, 2006 Posted August 5, 2006 I am unbale to move the external camera (F2) I can rotate it using numpad keys, but not move it using ctrl+numpad keys. Can anyone help please.
Ironhand Posted August 5, 2006 Posted August 5, 2006 It's not supposed to. CTRL-(keypad #s) is used in the cockpit. But CTRL-KeyPad * and CTRL-Keypad / do work to zoom in and out respectively like a telephoto or fisheye lens. colubridae Posted August 5, 2006 Author Posted August 5, 2006 Beg to differ my manual refers to this option under 'external view control'. plus there is an F2 shot (of weapons) in some of the training tracks that can only be made by moving the camera left/right
Ironhand Posted August 5, 2006 Posted August 5, 2006 ...plus there is an F2 shot (of weapons) in some of the training tracks that can only be made by moving the camera left/right That's done by unlocking the camera position (SHIFT-ESC) moving the view to where you want it and locking it again with tha same key combo. SuperKungFu Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 I said this in a previous thread, not sure if it will help you but its a quick guide to camera tricks shift-j will just have that jiggle effect. It's just one of several clever camera tricks you could use. For example the F2 external view, you can do a different type of zoom with ctrl / or *. You can also use free cam F11. You can padlock it with the . from the numpad key. One of the main things you saw though in lock on movies is the use of the F4 view, this is pretty hard to master because it requires you to change the code in one of the files. But it can be achieved through LOCFG, it shows the plan and basically you just place it anywhere around it and move on that axis. You can place this camera anywhere on the plane, in the front, under a pylon, above...etc. Another trick you can use is in the F2 view, you can circle around the plane, then use shift-esc to unlock the plane so you can look around from that axis. It's pretty complex, hope you get it. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
colubridae Posted August 6, 2006 Author Posted August 6, 2006 This is perfect answer. or solves my problem. Still don't know what is mean't by the ctrl-(numpad 1-9) sequence of keys (bottom of my lockon gold quick start quide not in original lockon manual but is in options-input-views many thanks though.
SuperKungFu Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 ctrl-(numpad 1-9) sequence of keys i personally never saw that or used that before, maybe it was for quick snap in the cockpit. Does it say what was it used for in the quick start manual? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
colubridae Posted August 6, 2006 Author Posted August 6, 2006 Just says (external views) 'moves camera instead of rotate it (sic)' col
