erjdriver Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 When any mission starts - in cockpit view - the viewport zooms in a bit. How can one disable that? Or at least set the preferred viewport.
bolek Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 You mean zooms out, not in? AFAIK, there is no way to disable this.
Zabuzard Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 However you can directly press the zoom in or out key right after the mission loaded but before you press fly. Or if you have assigned an axis to your zoom (for example the HOTAS Warthog Slider), move it a bit for and back. If you do so it won't "auto-zoom", at least for me. I mean at this stage:
Zimmerdylan Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 Been complained about a thousand times on the forums. E.D. says it is a feature but won't say why. None the less.....it's not going away no matter what anyone thinks about it, or how many complaints are made. Why??? No one knows.
erjdriver Posted March 15, 2016 Author Posted March 15, 2016 You mean zooms out, not in? AFAIK, there is no way to disable this. Zoom-in - as in getting closer to the instruments. I wrote zoom-in - but it might be a case of getting closer to the instruments - moving forward. The FOV angle seems to be the same. The starting point is just right - and then it zooms in way to close. Well ED can keep the zoom-in feature - but maybe there's a way of starting further back and then zoom in to the old starting position. That would work.
Terrorvogel Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 This stupid zoom "feature" is that much annoying every time... It makes me angry for years now. Plz ED make an option to turn off this "feature"! ASROCK X79 Extreme11 (WC), i7-4930K (WC), 32GB G.Skill TridentX, Vertex 3 120GB, GTX 980ti, 3x 39,5" Philips 4K, TrackIR 5, TM Warthog with PeterP´s FFB2 Mod, 2xSaitek Throttle, 2x Thrustmaster Cougar MFD Bezel, Simped Vario Pedals modded with toe brakes, Opencockpit Cards, 4x Soundcard, 2x Buttkicker Gamer 2, 4x GTX 950 with tons of touchscreens...
Zabuzard Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 As said, you can bypass the feature by manually zooming in or out at the stage right before the mission starts. By doing so it won't "auto-zoom".
_Randolph93 Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 This also happens with headtracking but I got used pressing / at mission start long time ago. .
rud Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 I miss the first switch I aim for. Every. Single. Time.
Hydrox Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 As said, you can bypass the feature by manually zooming in or out at the stage right before the mission starts. By doing so it won't "auto-zoom". This is why they don't remove it? We wouldn't have to press zoom, we wouldn't need to be forced to press zoom, if the stupid "feature" would be killed.
WildBillKelsoe Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 I think PeterP addressed this issue somehow. AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.
