Valium Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 Hi. For a few days I've been trying to obtain the appropriate graphical setting to make my game smooth and also to have a good graphic, and honestly I have no idea what I should change to medium or low. I got DCS and FC3 installed, now it's updated to 1.5.3.51417 version and it's not open beta. I changed it many times but my game is not always smooth. What do you think? What the best settings for graphic are? My computer's specification: - Intel i5-2500 3.30-3.60 GHz - Radeon HD 6790 1024MB Click here to see more pictures of Polish Air Force! Check also my album.
Top Jockey Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 Hello, It would be useful to know more of your PC specs. like: - amount (and speed) of RAM memory; - type of hard drive: HDD, SSD, etc; - which operating system. More, if you search around the forum, you will find that several members do not consider version 1.5.3 as good performance wise, as version 1.5.2. - lower FPS, stutters, etc. (It seems to be unanimous that in 1.5.3 version, one should select lower graphic settings comparing to 1.5.2, as the several graphics options are upgraded now.) Yes, that's true. I got also Open Beta so I decided to update my DCS to the same version. I got 8 RAM memory - I have no idea if it was HDD or SSD and I don't know how to check speed. Tell me how and I'll try to recon it. I got Windows 8.1 64-bit. I got my own settings but I save them and check all to low to see how game works. Click here to see more pictures of Polish Air Force! I'am not a Windows 8 user, but here it goes: - in Win 8 there's a function called: "Windows Drive Optimizer" (formerly Disk Defragmenter) reports whether a drive is an HDD or SSD; - You can access this utility by pressing WINDOWS + S, searching for "optimize"; - and then selecting Defragment and optimize your drives. Then you sould see in the program, below the item "Media type": Hard Disk Drive, or Solid State Drive. ATTENTION: if you do have a Solid State Drive, do NOT proceed to defragment it - as it is actually harmful for this kind of drive. Hope it helps.
