Hi

I am doing a night mission and using the AGM-65H. I find my target on the TGP and make SPI.

I Slave all to SPI and see my MAV slew to the target. I make my MAV SOI and China Hat Forward Short to narrow the FOV. Now at this point I am pressing TMS UP Short again and again and again and the crosshairs just won't collapse on the target for a launch. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

Sorry I should have said I am doing Maple Flag Advanced Training mission 10. It's what I have been given.

I'll figure something out. Thanks again

If you can see the target and lock it with TGP, you then switch to mav and slave it to the TGP.

You could then try "Force correlate" mode on the H Maverick to lock it on a point on the ground.

This is just a guess as I don't usually take H Mavs on night missions.

Cheers

Ok thanks. Target is flare illuminated, but I'll try to force correlate.

If it is illuminated you might just need to get closer. I also don't think force correlate is as effective anymore. Or at-least i remember reading something about it being changed, but i might be wrong about that.

I see this when I'm too close and too high, I need to dive. I think there is some limit for the angle between maveric nose and a target.

Or is it so that if mav's sensor can see it then it can hit it?

Make sure the illumination flare is low enough for the target to be properly lit. -Hs and -Ks also have a very poor sensore in DCS (even with optimal weather), so you'll need to be quite close in range, and probably be pointed in a dive to avoid the sensor picking up random noise after firing. I noticed with -Ds as well that the larger the angle between your nose and the target, the higher the probability of the mav losing track and missing the target.

I personally avoid force correlation mode, but that's just me because it's implemented wrong in DCS at the moment.
