Remarkymarkable Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Suddenly I can't start my engines either Disregard, I found the right ENG OPER switch on my HOTAS set to "motor" accidentally, reset back to "NORM" and engines start now. Sorry
KEULE Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 No starting possible In Multiplayer on NTTR Alpha i can not start the engine. Of course I know how to as I perfectly can fire up the engine in NTTR Singleplayer and I also checked with the latest manual. Simply nothing happens. If I would like to fly SFM I could get it for free at World of Warplanes. You only need 2 of the following 3: Altitude - Speed - Skill
spiddx Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 Make sure that your throttle is in the "Off" position before you press the engine starter. If it isn't, press the button seen in the screenshot to put it there. So in MP try picking a different aircraft slot that works for me. (1.5 but should be the same thing) Dont know what to do if it happens in SP though. Could try restarting the mission but if that did not work i dont know. Edited April 24, 2016 by mattebubben

When the aircraft does not start, is it during the first flight or in a respawn? I joined the 104th server and jumped into a m2000. I would get no spool even after hitting the little red cutoff switch. When I left and joined a different m2000 slot all worked normal. Others guys on team speak had the same problem. Same mission different day all slots worked as normal. This was pre 4-22 update.
Fer_Fer Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 Can you be a little more specific. When the aircraft does not start, is it during the first flight or in a respawn? for me its been both respawn and restarting engine after refueling and rearming
mattebubben Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 (edited) Can you be a little more specific. When the aircraft does not start, is it during the first flight or in a respawn? Ive done some testing. And i dont think its a bug. Its the result of the Throttle not being at Idle when starting up. Either from you moving the Throttle or if you have the synchronize cockpit controls with hotas controls at mission start option checked and did not have the hotas at idle before starting the mission. (in the options menu misc section) And by simply bringing the throttle back to the off detent (by clicking the button as shown by spiddix) and then it will start up just fine. So its no bug its just a question of the pilots not following the checklist =). Edit: Another thing to consider aswell if that you need to have the battery turned on before you can commence with starting the engine (not sure but dont remember this being a must before) So if you click the starter button without the battery turned on nothing will happen. ALSO NOTE If you turn the master caution or hyd switch i dont know witch before you push the starter button it wont engage... FOLLOW STEPS 1. TURN BAT ON 2. fuel switches on x3 3. CHECK throttle is in cutoff if your joystick has moved it may not be. PUSH RED BUTTON IN MIDDLE OF THROTTLE MOVEMENT. 4. Start button wait to 11% move throttle to idle. The only failed starts i have had is when i turn electrons on i shouldnt before i start OR the throttle is not in cutoff. 8700k@4.7 32GB ram, 1080TI hybrid SC2
Zeus67 Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Okay Folks. I found out what is happening with startup troubles. It seems that when you hit the engine cut-off button, the fuel cut-off switch moves to the OPEN position. So there is no fuel flow to the engine. Always check that the fuel cut-off switch is in the CLOSED position before engine start. The fuel cut-off switch was erroneously labeled as FIRE EXTINGUISHER, since the literal translation from French for COUPE FEU is CUT FIRE. T_A Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Can you also change inverters start position to off? I hate it when cold start is shortcut cuz of that IAF.Tomer My Rig: Core i7 6700K + Corsair Hydro H100i GTX Gigabyte Z170X Gaming 7,G.Skill 32GB DDR4 3000Mhz Gigabyte GTX 980 OC Samsung 840EVO 250GB + 3xCrucial 275GB in RAID 0 (1500 MB/s) Asus MG279Q | TM Warthog + Saitek Combat Pedals + TrackIR 5 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Azrayen Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 That is correct state of the panel from reports of those close to the aircraft. Not shortcut, it is correct per the M2000C startup checklist. +1 And TRs are not inverters but rectifiers.
