CrazyJohny Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 (edited) Yesterday during online flight, I was hit by AAA. Both elevators and rudder were blown out, but plane still kept flying only was slightly more difficult to handle. Whats more surprising, it still responded to stick inputs, as seen on video i was able to stall it. In my opinion, damage model needs an update, since aircraft with this kind of damage is sentenced to quick dead. [ame] [/ame] Edited April 4, 2016 by BIGNEWY TITLE Mi8 pilot of [VODKA] squadron
Grundar Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 You didn't lose all your control surfaces, though to be fair you did lose a significant amount of them! It was surprising to see it still fly! It didn't respond to rudder or elevator did it? Did you induce the stall by using rudder or elevator inputs or was it simply through moving the (presumably) undamaged ailerons? Obviously with the elevators gone you lost pitch control and the rudder prevents intended yawing so your only remaining control surface seems to be the ailerons which of course will induce roll - I imagine a small tweak of the ailerons with loss of rudder and elevator would quickly throw you into a dive/spin, as what seemed to happen in the video. But I wasn't flying it and I have no idea what inputs you could make with it, if you could yaw and pitch it shouldn't of really been able to happen. I would like to see updated damage and flight models for the AI simply to have them stop flying like UFO's or to soak up ammo like a bullet sponge. Sometimes the game does weird things, online play doesn't allow "game mode" style flight physics does it?
ED Translators Foka1 Posted April 4, 2016 ED Translators Posted April 4, 2016 I've asked him to do a maximum aft stick and at the same moment he did it plane got nose up and stalled... AKA LazzySeal
IronJockel Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 I experienced this aswell in earlier builds. It feels like the loss of the elavator gets only noticed when one trys to use it. Same goes for trim. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
ED Team NineLine Posted April 4, 2016 ED Team Posted April 4, 2016 I know recently they fixed an issue with the rudder, perhaps there is something with the elevators, I will see if I can reproduce as that video is hard see anything wrong. ED Team Yo-Yo Posted April 4, 2016 ED Team Posted April 4, 2016 THis is a bug, caught and fixed. Thank you very much. Grundar Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 I've asked him to do a maximum aft stick and at the same moment he did it plane got nose up and stalled... Yes I heard your voice on the video, I'm not sure if he did pull aft though or not when you said it or a little after you said it, I found it a little hard to judge via the video. Nice catch of a bug and quick response from ED
Bucic Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 (edited) Does empannage being shot off but the vertical stabilizer staying on the Dora fall into the same category? EDIT: Edited April 13, 2016 by Bucic F-5E simpit cockpit dimensions and flight controls Kill the Bloom - shader glow mod Poor audio Doppler effect in DCS [bug] Trees - huge performance hit especially up close
LURKINGBADGER Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 Is that possible? I shot this Dora AI to pieces and still she was flying like nothing happend, is that normal, i mean look @ hole in the left wing:megalol: how is that possible [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
