Has anybody had any experience of using the USB switch panels made by BBJ SimRacing in DCS?

The panels look very inexpensive compared to any other proprietary solution out there. The guy who makes them is a car sim racing enthusiast but he claims the USB toggle and switch panels he makes and sells are fully USB plug and play. I am very tempted by some of these products but I would be reassured about buying one if I knew it definitively worked with DCS..

The website is here and it includes links to video demos of the various panels.

The panels themselves are sold via eBay here:

As long as they are presented to Windows as a standard joystick it should work exactly as any other joystick. I.e. no problem using it in DCS.

You could do the same with some buttons and a cheap Arduino board.

Yep there shouldn't be any problem, windows can handle that.

There are other decently priced button box solutions that are worth mentioning around these prices. For exemple I ordered a DSD button box some time ago from Derek and it serves me well, it's mostly all plastic but at these prices we can't have steel, aluminum and carbon everywhere. ^^

The one I've got is only a P2 but I find it's enough for most sim, rotary dials are particularly useful for radio management for exemple.

I would like to find something with a "gear" handle as well as rotaries and buttons.

the switch panel works fine with dcs , have been using it for a few months now, in settings it shows up as 2 controllers, so if a key press doesn't register in 1 try the other.
