bigd Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 What does one do after completing UN Campaign? I noticed in the forums that most third party campaigns have lots of issues due to the constant DCS updates.
QuiGon Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 The constant DCS updates affect all campaigns, not just 3rd party ones. As far as I know there is no other official Huey campaign available yet. But you can check out the forums for some missions (or maybe even campaigns) or see here: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/ But what I would recommend to do is to jump into multiplayer! Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
Cowboy10uk Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 Currently doing the medevac campaign that's available. Great fun. Cowboy10uk [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Fighter pilots make movies, Attack pilots make history, Helicopter pilots make heros. :pilotfly: Corsair 570x Crystal Case, Intel 8700K O/clocked to 4.8ghz, 32GB Vengeance RGB Pro DDR4 3200 MHZ Ram, 2 x 1TB M2 drives, 2 x 4TB Hard Drives, Nvidia EVGA GTX 1080ti FTW, Maximus x Hero MB, H150i Cooler, 6 x Corsair LL120 RGB Fans And a bloody awful Pilot

Mango Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 Had the same question.... thanks for the suggestion. :)
bigd Posted May 1, 2016 Author Posted May 1, 2016 Any chance I could get someone to explain to me in laymans terms where to find the campaign and then how to get it in the proper folders?
DeJohn Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Hi Bigd; 1. use the link above in post 4 2. in that post go to post #5, near the bottom will be the links to the Campaign, and the skin pack you'll need. 3. On your computer go to 'Users\(username)\Save Games\DCS' folder... -Place the skin folders in the 'Liveries\uh-1h' folder. (if you don't have those two folders just create them.) -Also in the Saved Game\DCS folder will be 'Missions\Campaigns\EN' (in the 'EN' folder create a folder named "DustOffDemov5", and place the files from the campaign mission you downloaded in there). 4. Start DCS and click Campaigns. You should see the DustOff campaign listed.
bigd Posted May 1, 2016 Author Posted May 1, 2016 DeJohn, thank you for taking the time out to explain. I will follow your instruction tonight.
bigd Posted May 2, 2016 Author Posted May 2, 2016 Tried to download tonight and apparently doing something incorrect. First of all, in my saved games folder I have thre folders, DCS, DCS open alpha and DCS openbeta. I tried to download into the DCS folder first and that did not work so I tried DCS openbeta. That did not work either. I am able to get the files into the Dustoff folder I created but when I open the campaign menu in the game, the medivac campaign is not there. I also noticed that .rar and .miz files have the Adobe Acrobat symbol in front of them. Not sure if that is creating the problem and if so, how to correct it. Any suggestions?
DeJohn Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 bldg; When downloading files, download them to a temp folder or any other folder, not the dcs folders. rar, zip, or 7z files are compressed files, and need to be uncompressed using 'winrar' or 'winzip'. Once you uncompress them then you can move the needed files to where they will be used. The DustOff campaign can only be used in DCS 1.5.3 versions right now since DCS 2.0 doesn't have the Caucasus map yet. Your (Saved Games\DCS\Missions\Campaign\EN\DustOffDemov5) folder, will contain these files (after they have been un-compressed)... (DustOffDemoV5.1.cmp, Failure.jpg, Medevac 1.miz, Medevac 2.miz, Medevac 3.miz, Medevac 4.miz, Medevac 5.miz, Medevac 6.miz, Medevac 7.miz, Medevac 8.miz, Medevac 9.miz, Medevac 10.miz, Medevac Intro Flight.miz, Medevac logo2.jpg, Victory.jpg) Your (Liveries\uh-1h) folder will contain these folders (after un-compressed)... Army 82nd Medical Detachment Army 101AD_LaPointe Army 173rd AHC Army 229ABn_Crandall Army 229ABn_Freeman USMC VMO-6
bigd Posted May 3, 2016 Author Posted May 3, 2016 You have heard the "can't see the forest for the trees", well all I'm going to say is thank you again DeJohn for taking the time out to explain to a newbie in detail. What I am not going to tell you is that all this time, the last two days I have been looking for the medivac in the Uh-1h campaign folder and all I would see was "UN Campaign". Not realizing all along it was in the "My Campaigns" folder. Feeling dumb but heh, Live and learn.
