ridbobkan Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 (edited) Hi all, first of all excuse my poor English. I believe the M2k is over-consuming fuel. Main caracteristics of Snecma M-53 are: - consumption from 24,64 to 25,55 mg/NS. (Dry - no PC) - Max thrust from 54,92 kN to 64,35kN (Dry - No PC) Whatever the engine fitted on our beautiful bird, fuel flow should not exceed 100 kg/s. Short calculation, with worst config: Thrust: 64,35kN - Consumption: 25,55 mg/NS : 64,35*1000*25,55 = 1644142,5 mg/s = 98,6 kg / min. Except if I'm wrong, the bird is too thirsty at this stage :) EDIT: with M-53P2, numbers are correct for the calculation. Edited May 30, 2016 by ridbobkan

Except the bike is on fire and the ground is on fire and you are on fire and you realise you are in hell :joystick:
The Legman Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 Something looks odd with it certainly. I am usually conservative with fuel and find myself in bingo really soon. DCS Discord community - https://discord.gg/U8aqzVT
ridbobkan Posted May 31, 2016 Author Posted May 31, 2016 Something looks odd with it certainly. I am usually conservative with fuel and find myself in bingo really soon. That was also my thoughts. I had the feeling we couldn't be airbone as long as M2K does in real life when patrolling through the French sky. This is why I made the calculation.

QuiGon Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 Correction in development so should be in next update! Love you guys  Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
WildBillKelsoe Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 Correction in development so should be in next update! So when can we expect the INS to be fully implemented? AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.
ridbobkan Posted June 4, 2016 Author Posted June 4, 2016 Thanks Razbam. Great news. On dit merci qui?
GGTharos Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 For reference, the engine specifications can be found here: https://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=2&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwiu-7y7r47NAhUXKFIKHZCKB_MQFggiMAE&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.snecma.com%2Ffile%2Fdownload%2Ffiche_m53_ang_2011.pdf&usg=AFQjCNHel0OX8sXlzcFrsotWdChj54I-BQ&bvm=bv.123664746,d.aXo The SFC at AB is 2.10. The maximum thrust is 21400lbs. 21400 * 2.10 = 44940 / 2.2 = 20427kg/h /60 = 340.5kg/min. For MIL it would come out to a maximum of about 98.9kg/min. ridbobkan Posted June 25, 2016 Author Posted June 25, 2016 That is now perfect. Great news. Thanks Razbam
