TWC_SLAG Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 Let's see, I have tried putting mods in cockpits, liveries, sounds, terrains, you name it. In Bazar, Mods, _Mods, JSGME, Coremods, you name it. I have tried Program Files/Eagle Dynamics/DCS World, Users/User/Saved Games/DCS. Nothing works to get them into the game, and the creators of the mods almost never give directions. When they do, the directions don't work. End of rant. Could someone please create a "dummies guide" for installing different types of mods that an old guy (72+) can understand? Thanks in advance. TWC_SLAG Posted June 15, 2016 Author Posted June 15, 2016 What mod? What type of mod? And isn't there any Read Me file that tells how to install? All/any mods. gospadin Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 All/any mods. I haven't seen many read me's on how to install. A mod will either augment (new liveries) or modify the existing file structure, and as such, the type of mod itself determines how you need to install it. I strongly recommend JSGME to allow you to install and uninstall mods, as well as fixing them after an update. Shahdoh Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 JSGME is the best way to deal with mods. Scooternutz Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 JSGME is the best way to install mods. There are modes that are not JSGME ready but once you learn JSGME you can make anything JSGME ready. Just make sure to to de-select everything prior to updating you DCS builds. [sIGPIC]https://drive.google.com/file/d/16rUBmmJR7A3YGZVGPGskxG1XtvulGojJ/view?usp=sharing[/sIGPIC]

Shahdoh Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 That is not a website address, it is a Teamspeak address. Teamspeak is a voice over the net program available for free here: http://www.teamspeak3.com/teamspeak-download.php

Teamspeak is a voice over the net program available for free here: http://www.teamspeak3.com/teamspeak-download.php I have TS, but your TS address had a ".com" in it. So, I thought it was a website. DieHard Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 (edited) Hi, I use a lot of Devrim's mods using JSGME. Devrim uses Readme files to show the process necessary for installation. Download a few of his files to see how he does the process to get a feel for it. For a couple of years I made my mods long-hand before discovering JSGME. I am age 64. Been with DCS (edited) since 2011. I still have my modded directory of 1.2.16 ; I have so much work in my modded directory I hated to part with it. I have noticed my mental decline last couple years as I am getting older. The program files are just glorified outline formats like learning the English reading language, just got to be careful with what goes where. The only mod of Devrim's I have not using the JSGME format is his Su-27 all English Gray cockpit for FC3, this I did long-hand, if I can figure it out, anybody can. His Read-Me describes the process. I use this mod in the 2.0 Alpha, 1.5 Beta and 1.5 Final Release (Stable version). : http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/757827/ Devrim, much thanks for the Ka-50 mods.
