    • I can't finish it, I hardly hit any of the targets.

    • It's messy but I DID finish it after a few tries. Not fun though.

    • Hard going fun. Felt like "I was there, man". Stay on this level.

    • Within my skill-level, a bit too easy perhaps

Hi sorry I have not had the chance to try this yet, it seems to be provoking some debate :)

Any chance you could make a MP version for the 229th to try out please

FastForward: Mission is set at dawn, have only tried it with jungle textures so far. But the light shouldn't change because of different textures. Are you using the standard edition of DCS?

I'm using the open beta 1.5.4

I'll try it later with the stable version ;)

Nah, I'd just mess it up bigtime - I never play multi so I wouldn't have any sensible feel for it.

But you know, you can edit it yourself. I have no problems with that.

Good one, I believe there was something with the clock getting changed regarding the sun.

A LOT of my old early morning missions went to being VERY early morning after the correction in the stable version.

Just finished the mission :-) I'd say it took me probably 15 tries and 8 days, but with the last 3 attempts, I always got the 2 first tank immediately. The 3rd tank almost seemed invulnerable though and I had to return to base twice. Anyway, this is no issue since the base is that close. Conclussion as mentioned before: Challenging but fun. Keep on going.

Hey guys. I have a confession to make: I'm an idiot :)

I tried the mission with the regular textures and it was damn near impossible to find both APCs...and yes, they ran out of ammo...and I couldn't get the tank with my last few rockets.

So yeah, I survived and could go back to base for repairs and more rockets. But what the hell?! It was borderline impossible. Seems the Nam textures are a LOT less dense and that's pretty strange. Anyways, back to the drawing board :)

And rge75 - you got grit!

UPDATE:

New "lighter" version of mission now available in downloads. The initial version I released was just bonkers and I'm the first to admit it. I believe and hope this new version is better suited for regular non-mental Huey pilots.

NOTE: It's not for children though, you still need to hit with them rockets!

Please comment on the download page, makes it easier for me.

Thank you Tako for the mission. A friend and I had a lot of fun doing it.

Ah! Well why not? Testing/exploring things...it ain't bad :)

When i do missions, i try to find the time that will best tell the story. In this instance, it made the flight a bit more interesting and a little harder due to the terrain (nice location btw). Felt a little more Vietnam considering the engagement, and the tracers are more visible. Adds to the stress ;)

Spot on! Maybe I should take that into consideration...but then again, maybe not.

Making a campaign that suits as many as possible is a balancing act. The Outremer campaign's first mission is one of those that made people give up. Same thing with Bay of Hogs mission#2...too demanding. But you gave me some more ideas nonetheless :smilewink:

EDIT: The location! Yes, I had to look very hard at the map to find a somewhat remote location, with enough forest (jungle) and not too close to the high mountains...this to avoid showing how slackish my semipro mod really is ;)
