geert Posted June 25, 2016 Posted June 25, 2016 Hi all, Got my CV1 yesterday and I´m trying to get it to work with DCS 2.0 but no luck yet. I enabled the "allow 3d parties option" in oculus home and I don´t know if I have to do anything else. Checked the "auto detect oculus rift" option in DCS options menu. When I start DCS, oculus home also starts (if it wasn´t on already) and in the rift I get a message saying something like " Sorry, DCS.exe is taking a while to load. If the problem persists check the app on your computer" something like that. DCS starts on the monitor (in very small unusable format/resolution, like preview window) and I can hear sound from DCS on the rift with no problems. My setup is nowhere what is required (2xgtx 660 ti (SLI disabled), FX6300 and no working USB 3.0 for the sensor) but still, lots off apps work and I don´t understand why it´s not properly starting up. Anybody got a clue? thanks, Geert
cromhunt Posted June 25, 2016 Posted June 25, 2016 (edited) hello:) you don't speak about your Ram?how much it is? So other apps seem working ,could you list ? The message about "taking a while" happens often when it's the first time launch, dont worry and just wait. Try to launch oculus home in first and DCS after. The USB plugs work also on USB 2.0. It seems a memory issue. see you next:) Edited June 25, 2016 by cromhunt
geert Posted June 25, 2016 Author Posted June 25, 2016 (edited) Hi, 16 Gb of RAM installed, possibly the only item that´s not an issue! I did wait, but probably like 5-10 min. or so. Would it be possible that I have to wait longer than that? DCS is already active on the monitor within a few seconds. All apps that I installed work, although some work better than others, just some free movies and demo´s. Only games are Lucky´s tale and EVE and they actually seem to work nicely. thanks Edited June 25, 2016 by geert
hansangb Posted June 25, 2016 Posted June 25, 2016 Does your rift (inside the HMD) have an orange light or green light? If you have an orange like (although it doesn't sound like it) you may be having HDMI problems. *IF* it's just orange, you may want to try a DVI adapter. hsb HW Spec in Spoiler --- i7-10700K Direct-To-Die/OC'ed to 5.1GHz, MSI Z490 MB, 32GB DDR4 3200MHz, EVGA 2080 Ti FTW3, NVMe+SSD, Win 10 x64 Pro, MFG, Warthog, TM MFDs, Komodo Huey set, Rverbe G1
geert Posted June 25, 2016 Author Posted June 25, 2016 Actually, it´s a white LED, don´t know if its supposed to light up in green. But like I said, the headset itself does work with all the other apps and stuff and it would be kinda strange to have an app dependent HDMI problem.
hansangb Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 yeah, that's why I was wondering if it was orange (like mine was). Just to try it out, fire it up w/o Rift and crank every setting down and see what happens. hsb HW Spec in Spoiler --- i7-10700K Direct-To-Die/OC'ed to 5.1GHz, MSI Z490 MB, 32GB DDR4 3200MHz, EVGA 2080 Ti FTW3, NVMe+SSD, Win 10 x64 Pro, MFG, Warthog, TM MFDs, Komodo Huey set, Rverbe G1

Also tried repair. Am I really the only one having this error? Open beta doens't even start anymore even with rift autodetect disabled.
Phantom88 Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 Try using the "Repair DCS Open beta exe." located in your DCS World folder. Patrick
geert Posted June 28, 2016 Author Posted June 28, 2016 Try using the "Repair DCS Open beta exe." located in your DCS World folder. I did, doens't work. My system can't properly handle VR in DCS anyway, better just wait untill I get at least a new gpu.
Quantenpresbyterianer Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 (edited) Got my Rift today and I had exactly the same issue. “DCS.exe is taking a while to load.“ I run an Intel 3750K @ 4,3Ghz and GTX980. Already wanted to throw the rift out of the window, but after a few restarts its suddenly working. cromhunt Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 Hello:) to get compatibility tool: https://support.oculus.com/help/oculus/1633938460220125/?ref=hc_fnav This soft point out the minimum features to have rift working. While launching DCS did you force full screen?(alt enter)i know that seems simple but sometimes we forget the essential.

Hi there :) Yeah, already tried that, but obviously useless, says my PC isn't ready for rift, but I pointed that out in my first post. Building a new PC anyway, lets see what happens then.
rajdary Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 (edited) Geert, try the following, in the nvidia panel click on the activate all displays tab instead of disable Sli, also as you have 2 graphics card, try plugging the hdmi cable of the rift in the other of your 2 cards. And in DCS you have to change settings to 1920x1080 and disable full screen and fnally if you have multi monitors dont swap around which one is the main monitor, leave it as default, then it should work. I set up a new system and left DCS 2.0 untouched on a SSD. Even in the new system I got the error I mentioned. I also did a new install and that works just fine. Still not clear what caused it, but not an issue anymore, but possibly an issue for other folks.
