FA_Crazy-Canuck Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 I have followed the neccessary steps using LOTU to watch tracks that I have made online. I am unable to get out of the cockpit hitting F2. For that matter none of the functions work. I can see the lables on the objects so I know that LOTU has worked for that but I cannot use the function keys. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? I sent a track to Goya and it worked fine for him. Thanks for the input. ~S FA_Crazy-Canuck [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
S77th-GOYA Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 The only other thing I thought of was maybe to try watching them with your TrackIR profile not loaded. But even that doesn't really make sense.
TekaTeka Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 There are 3 ways of track play in LockOn. 1) Play loop (default): You can not change views. 2) Play once (Ctrl-P): You can change views. 3) Video edit (Ctrl-E): You can change views and save as a new track. When you open the track in the mission editor, you can select these from the menu, too. TekaTeka from Japan [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Visit my site Beyond Visual Range.
S77th-GOYA Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Watching the track isn't his problem. He can't get external views to work with tracks recorded online and then enabling external views with LOTU. He gets externals if the mission has externals enabled to begin with. The edits done by LOTU are not the problem, because I could use the externals on his e-mailed track file. It's very strange.
Ironhand Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 FA_Crazy-Canuck, You can only select new views, if you open the track through the Mission Editor. If you watch it using the SHOW button on the Main Menu, views remain locked. Is this by any chance the source of your difficulty? FA_Crazy-Canuck Posted September 13, 2006 Author Posted September 13, 2006 Thank you Ironhand. It appears I was able to open the track through the mission editor, however it did not play throgh automatically, it wanted me to fly the mission??? What are the steps required to watch how things unfolded from inside and out? I believe I am closer to the answer!!! I'm I to assume there is no way to watch a track through "Show" from the outside assuming the server has that feature turned off? Thanks for the help all. Ureka!, I was able to watch the track using Mission Editor, thank you Treka, Goya, Ironhand, great community help! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Ironhand Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 ...I'm I to assume there is no way to watch a track through "Show" from the outside assuming the server has that feature turned off?... Glad you got it sorted out. To answer this one question, using the SHOW button disables all view modifier buttons such as F1-F12 up through and including zoom and pan. So it doesn't matter whether or not the server had external views ON or OFF. All that matters is what views were used when in making the track. BTW, now that you know how to open it in the ME, if you want to edit it and save the new views, start the track playing with CTRL-E (or select "Edit track" from the FLIGHT submenu). When you quit the mission you'll be prompted to name and save the edited track. In SHOW menu, you still can hit Ctrl-P or Ctrl-E insted of clicking the START button and get modifiable views. I like this way because I don't have to change the file type. FA_Crazy-Canuck Posted September 14, 2006 Author Posted September 14, 2006 Goes to show you there are no stupid questions! Now if I can just figure out who is friendly and who is the enemy! By the way, what, do you find, is the nicest resolution to run the game in? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
S77th-GOYA Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 The largest you can get it and still get good frames. It depends on your system and other graphic settings. I use 1600x1200.
