I have followed the neccessary steps using LOTU to watch tracks that I have made online. I am unable to get out of the cockpit hitting F2. For that matter none of the functions work. I can see the lables on the objects so I know that LOTU has worked for that but I cannot use the function keys. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? I sent a track to Goya and it worked fine for him.

Thanks for the input.

There are 3 ways of track play in LockOn.

1) Play loop (default): You can not change views.

2) Play once (Ctrl-P): You can change views.

3) Video edit (Ctrl-E): You can change views and save as a new track.

When you open the track in the mission editor, you can select these from the menu, too.

Watching the track isn't his problem. He can't get external views to work with tracks recorded online and then enabling external views with LOTU. He gets externals if the mission has externals enabled to begin with. The edits done by LOTU are not the problem, because I could use the externals on his e-mailed track file. It's very strange.

FA_Crazy-Canuck,

You can only select new views, if you open the track through the Mission Editor. If you watch it using the SHOW button on the Main Menu, views remain locked. Is this by any chance the source of your difficulty?

Thank you Ironhand. It appears I was able to open the track through the mission editor, however it did not play throgh automatically, it wanted me to fly the mission??? What are the steps required to watch how things unfolded from inside and out?

I believe I am closer to the answer!!!

I'm I to assume there is no way to watch a track through "Show" from the outside assuming the server has that feature turned off?

Thanks for the help all.

Ureka!, I was able to watch the track using Mission Editor, thank you Treka, Goya, Ironhand, great community help!

Glad you got it sorted out. To answer this one question, using the SHOW button disables all view modifier buttons such as F1-F12 up through and including zoom and pan. So it doesn't matter whether or not the server had external views ON or OFF. All that matters is what views were used when in making the track.

BTW, now that you know how to open it in the ME, if you want to edit it and save the new views, start the track playing with CTRL-E (or select "Edit track" from the FLIGHT submenu). When you quit the mission you'll be prompted to name and save the edited track.

In SHOW menu, you still can hit Ctrl-P or Ctrl-E insted of clicking the START button and get modifiable views. I like this way because I don't have to change the file type.

Goes to show you there are no stupid questions! Now if I can just figure out who is friendly and who is the enemy!

By the way, what, do you find, is the nicest resolution to run the game in?
