The aircraft was a total loss. landing gear did not lower. The pilots ejected and were doing well.

Some pictures that my friend sent to me today. At least now we have more spare parts. lol

It's hard to maintain these aircrafts nowadays, the whole cell even modernized can't hold the pressure anymore. The mechanics do a expecional job, but they can't do miracles all the time.

What is their main purpose (role) in Brasil? genuinely curious.

 

Good to see the pilots got out safe, hope she will fly again someday.

 

The F-5FM is only for training, however, the F-5EM is used as a interceptor, but it is also capable of anti-ship and strike missions.

 

By 2019, the Gripen E will land here, and it will replace the F-5EM.
