Is there a chance we can have a look at the armament control panel for the Mistral? (if there's one)

This picture from a SA-342L1 walk around is best I've found to date and looks very similar to the existing weapons panel.

Yeah I've seen this one before. They panel we have is good for now. We've got feeling out for better pictures.

What is the range of the mistral missile?

 

Is it heat seeking?

 

It's a VSHORAD (very short range) missile, like the stinger, and max range you can expect to hit something is less than 7km. Usually in the 5km to keep max manoeuverability.

Yes, it is heatseeking. Cooling is provided by compressed NO2 bottle. Manpads version provides 30 seconds cooling for one missile. I wonder if this is simulated in the module. Normaly you can't keep track of the target forever.

 

There is no mention anymore of the sniper version. Is it abandonned?

Should be not too hard to mod. The two missiles already exist either as mod or basic in DCS.

Poly_Roie, I understand that you guys are looking for some better reference material before doing anything. Hope that more ref. pictures will surface soon :thumbup: Seems like it is hard to come by information on some of the Gazelle models, but this is my guess how the armament panel works on the Mistral version:

The Mistral will be it's own version. So you'll have the SA342M, SA342L, and SA342 Mistral. Currently we don't have plans of making a version with Mistral and other weapons, but feel free to recommend that on the enhancement thread.

 

Right now our main focus is getting multi-crew working and that is taking us a bit of time. So after that's done we can look at other enhancements that can be added.

 

A Gazelle with just Mistrals is window dressing. That's the point.

 

So the original question, worded differently, is "When I have 1 or more Mistral on the helicopter is that the only weapon system I can carry?"

 

Another question is "Is Mistral going to be mountable on the M variant or the L variant or both? Which sensor will I have available to me is another driving factor in aircraft and loadout choice.
