hughlb Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 I have been looking into purchasing a flight sim rig/chair, but all the options - Obutto, Volair (and some limited domestic alternatives) are either hideously overpriced and under-featured, or shipping is too large to justify. I take it there are people who have built their own, what are my options? Pay $1500 aud for a Volair, or embark on a DIY adventure? | Windows 10 | I7 4790K @ 4.4ghz | Asus PG348Q | Asus Strix 1080TI | 16GB Corsair Vengeance 2400 DDR3 | Asrock Fatal1ty Z97 | Samsung EVO 850 500GB (x2) | SanDisk 240GB Extreme Pro | Coolermaster Vanguard S 650Watt 80+ | Fractal Design R4 | VirPil T-50 | MFG Crosswind Graphite | KW-908 JetSeat Sim Edition | TrackIR 5 | [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Wrecking Crew Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 I made this 'cockpit' from 5/8" plywood. It has a 7-port USB hub underneath, for three connections - power, USB and an anti-static clip. The whole thing can be lifted off the desktop. WC Visit the Hollo Pointe DCS World server -- an open server with a variety of COOP & H2H missions including Combined Arms.
