sawacs Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 I have know idea if I am alone on this thought but it would sure be nice to have the ability to attach a full weapon load out that is non-functioning or inert. Why you may ask? Simply having the ability to carry the weight of a full combat load out without posing any danger from trigger happy individuals on aerobatic servers. Flying with a full, inert, load might provide a safe training opportunity without the danger of creating any poop storms from individuals who cannot resist shooting down other players.:argue: Cheers, Q "When they passed out brains you thought they said trains and you missed both!"

KLR Rico Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 I understand you're talking about wanting it for all the aircraft, but if it's any help, the A-10 has inert ordinance available. i5-4670K@4.5GHz / 16 GB RAM / SSD / GTX1080 Rift CV1 / G-seat / modded FFB HOTAS
cichlidfan Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 If someone can't resist shoot down other players, I doubt they will load up on training munitions. sawacs Posted July 20, 2016 Author Posted July 20, 2016 (edited) If someone can't resist shoot down other players, I doubt they will load up on training munitions. IIRC, the A-10C doesn't include training rounds for the gun. The main point of having the ability to load up on inert weapons is for two things only and that is the weight and drag. The weapons do not need to have any function at all with the exception of having weight, drag, and the ability to fix themselves to the correct hard points on the aircraft. Lastly, a positive side effect is the weapons cannot be used as they are normally intended to be used. Eddie Posted July 21, 2016 Posted July 21, 2016 IIRC, the A-10C doesn't include training rounds for the gun. It does. It'd be nice if all a/c in DCS had the appropriate captive inert and training stores available. Those that don't want to use them dont have to. No different to the A-10C now.
