RawMexicanTacos Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 It seems after the 1.5.4 update that this has happened. Whenever I fire any weapons, use flares, or an explosion sets off, the game just crashes and closes out. I've tried at least 100 things to try and solve this problem including re-installing DCS, both for steam and the standalone. I've updated everything and no changes except FPS increase which I'm proud of but I can't enjoy the game just flying around, this is a combat simulator I want to be able to fly missions and destroy targets with the A-10C. Forgot to mention this happens with any aircraft. It also crashes when other aircraft or vehicles fire their weapons. Need help ASAP.

SkateZilla Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 (edited) Weird because previous versions have worked perfectly. I'm getting on average 30 fps You can only push the Intel HD GPU's so far, They'll run DCS to a point, but once you start firing weapons and loading more effects and shaders it will crash out due to the fact it was not designed to run anything as complex as DCS to begin with. Another Thing BOTH of you guys need to see is also the Shared Memory Conflict. 1. You both have 6 GB of Total System Memory, Which is Below the Minimum Requirements by itself. 2. You both have 3 GB of that Total System Memory Set as Shared Memory for the Intel HD GPU. Thus Limiting Your Available system Memory to 3GB when Running DCS, which is 37% of the Minimum Required Memory for DCS. 3. Shared memory doesnt operate the same way as Dedicated memory, which Intel HD GPU's in use by Both Users only has 128MB of Dedicated Memory. 4. You both are Running a GPU and Memory intensive Application, which will fill up both System and GPU Memory easily, Once you Trigger effects or events, memory will run out. Considering the Crashes point to DirectX11RenderAPI and Scene Manager. Even though It worked before, DCS1.5 and 2.0 are Both Slowly having Shaders and Effects Replaced, Eventually the new Effects/Shaders are too much for the Tiny IntelHD GPU to Render without crashing itself. SkateZilla Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 It Maybe a Longshot Guys: But Can you Download and Install the Drivers for the Intel HD GPUs: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26078/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-and-Windows-7-8-1-15-40-?product=86210 You guys are both running a version from Early 2015 (Likely Windows Default Driver). muddcatt Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 It's the Intel Graphics. I have a i5 Nuc will play gave fine. And a i7 nuc that will do everything but fire weapons and load the f15c or su-27 from a quick start game. Still playing with drivers and stuff. The whole prob is Video I do know that for sure. A10C will drop bombs and everything. But if you try to fire a weapon it'll crash. website
Luix73 Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 Opened a case to Intel https://communities.intel.com/message/427080#427080
cowtherookie Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 I have this exact same problem with the same system specs. I was wondering if there was any way to download an older version of the program before this particular patch caused this problem?
zach Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 Same Issue I'm having the same issue. I've been going back and forth with this for over 6 months and still don't know why. It seems to be the GPU that's causing the crash, because i'm using the same Intel GPU as yours. with an intel i7 processor and 12 GB of Ram. What's really weird is that the game used to run perfectly fine before and sadly, now it's nearly Unplayable. Keep us updated if you manage to get it fixed.

zach Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 I finally fixed it guys !! most computers that have the Intel GPU will have an additional GPU (AMD R7) in my case to assist in 3D applications such as DCS. If you have the AMD GPU, all you need to do is right click on the desktop and go to the AMD Radeon Settings>>Preference>> Radeon Additional Settings>>Switchable Graphics Application Settings (Located in the left pane). Then, run the game and when the main menu pops up, go back to the AMD Settings window. You should see 2 applications appear (consent.exe) and (dcs.exe). From the drop down menu right next to the application name, select(High Performance) and click Apply. and finally, enjoy playing DCS again.
baldeagle611 Posted January 29, 2018 Posted January 29, 2018 I just backdated to version 1.2.12 and it now works like a dream, even on the the highest settings. So thanks to all. Just a shame it took so long to find out. There are obviously quite a few of us with Intel GPUs, so perhaps it would make commercial sense for Eagle to reinstate their support for them? So now my question is: What planes won't work with the backdated version? Please don't say the A-10C!
