I've found this, but I didn't try.

So, I'm not sure if it's updated and compatible with latest version of Mi-8 module.

The stock sounds are really good. Belsimtek invested quite some effort to make them realistic:

Also after the recent updates the sound is noticeably better. Try flying with the windows open for a while ;)

I also used this one but it seems like it doesn't work anymore in 2.7. DCS always crashed on the loading screen until I removed the mod.

Edit: Never mind - re-installed the mod and it's working fine again.

I assume you like the mod better then the default sounds. What in your opinion is better then the default sounds?

I must admit, I did not check out the original sound on 2.7...I don't know if it changed from 2.5 to 2.7 or not. I simply think the sound mod gives some more "feedback". You hear better when your going from transitional flight to ground effect. IMO it also simply sounds a bit more powerful. I wouldn't say it's a huge difference, but just some "fine details". Also the external fly-by sound (F3) seems "more impressive".
