Hawkeye60 Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 So my older brother comes by, sees the rift and wants to try it. I set up the KA-50 on the runway and put him in the cockpit. He spends some time looking around and asks for control over the pointer so he can play with the switches. I hand him the mouse. However, I had forgotten to place the collective in the down position, which was fine until he clicked something. The next thing he knows He's taken off with a rapid assent, with no control, as i haven't given him the joystick or throttle!:D Realizing his predicament, and not one to give up under any circumstances, He began to click things down by the throttle.(I could see him looking) Well.... He shut down the engine!:megalol: I tell him this and he says "Don't worry, I'll turn it back on.":helpsmilie: I don't know what he did, it was not turning the engine on, but I watched in amazement as he auto rotated slowly to the ground, landing with only a slight bump, an NO damage!:noexpression: From 2000 feet. Even though he had never been in the sim, or a Ka-50 before. He was proud as a peacock. I had to lift my lower jaw up! I could not do that until weeks of training had passed. hansangb Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 I too had a friend over and he wanted to check out the Huey in DK2. Next thing I know, he took off, flew around and landed on the runaway. I was like "how the hell are you doing that/????" He thought he was a natural born flyer. Until I realized he was just playing the track back. LOL.
