Please, we need a DCS Recorder ! A add-on to ecord a flight and be able to fly in formation with this "ghost", like FS Recorder do in Microdoft Flight Sim. It's sometime difficulte to play in multiplayer with the crazy life we have... The possibility to make some training in solo will be great ! I'M willing to pay a decent price for this add-on if they exist someday !

No plans to release. till...

PhC now is over 40 scripts, not documented scripts.

Each DCS update bring something new interesting. Almost each DCS update - problems for us, we need edit scripts, test it and so on.

If we release we`ll start constantly receive questions, how this change?how this replace?

lack of time for support.

This is why DCS need to make a DCS recorder !! We can already save a track, it's probably not so difficult to just use this track to make a "traffic aircraft" and fly with ! I have tried the "record AVI" like SkateZilla said, but it doesn't like to work, or I miss something....

Closterman mean he want fly in track playback. As fs recorder in fsx.

Phantom control starts his history in ~2005.

I dont beleive ED implement such recorder soon.

Devs in ru forum many times said there are more critical thing to do...

In fact, now it's very simple. ED could allow the player to be the number 2 or else in a flight, not only the leader. Now the mission editor is a very powerful tool and with triggers and advanced functions, you can even do aerobatic flights. If ED allows us to not be the leader of a flight, you can practice in the same way if you follow a phantom

Hi

I fly in a formation group since ~11 years now.

Formation flight on a high level needs a lot of training. I means not one time per week. Ist more one flight per day! With a module like fsrecorder it wil be possible for each pilot to train his part of the display for himself. Now in DCS i can just train, wen the whole Team has time to fly. (maybee one time per week)

The formation tool in the mission editor ist not useful for this. Each leader fly a little bit diffrent, but a good leader always fly the same. To train a good display its just possible with the whole is team online, or wen i can play the tracks from the rest of the team as traffic!

i'd also be willing to pay for such a tool like fs recorder for DCS and i think a lot of other people wil agree with mee!

cheers Kuse

I thought that 1.5 already changed that so you can be a wingman while AI is the lead?

Now the mission editor is a very powerful tool and with triggers and advanced functions, you can even do aerobatic flights. If ED allows us to not be the leader of a flight, you can practice in the same way if you follow a phantom

We would just need a system that allows us while in aircraft to hit "Rec" and then hit "Stop" and it would record all the aircraft moves just like the AI has the physics, so high wind etc doesn't affect to it same way as it does to human players.

And then you can take any route recording and apply it to AI. You can even select a route and select a moment from timeline where specific maneuver is done and use just that small part as script maneuver for AI.

It would work this way that I go to fly, I hit record at level flight and then I do barrel roll and then loop after it and then I just get back to level flight and hit "Stop". DCS stores that route record by the date and time and module + pilot name.

Now I can go to mission editor, select the AI and assign it a special enroute task so if it gets fired upon by a missile, it will perform the route that I recorded. I can even slim it down to specific time (00:00:00-00:00:00 HH:MM:SS) when the AI follows the maneuver.

Then I can select is the maneuver a dynamic one, or strict. Meaning that if it is a dynamic, the AI will perform the maneuver starting from the conditions it is at the moment, like if the AI is going vertical at the moment, then it tries to perform the whole turns regardless of the time or the ending directions. If it is a strict, then AI will fly to starting conditions (regardless of heading or altitude) by roll and pitch and perform the route as I did.

Then there could be different kind modes like "Ghost" that just moves a 3D model in the route space, regardless of anything else and the route is strictly as recorded (altitude, headings etc). It only has a damage model enabled but nothing else. The AI doesn't try to override anything. It would be the perfect one for the acrobatics training flights where you start recording at ground taxiing, and then stop it after landing and taxiing. This way you can get AI to start at ground and wait triggers to start taxiing and when it happens the ghost mode hits in. And after landing taxiing ghost ends, AI takes over and parks the aircraft dynamically.

We could use all these for even advertising videos about the air combat, training, easy the AI functions by fighting against our selves, but even assigning a AI specific set of maneuvers they are allowed to do.
