Sandman1330 Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 (edited) G'day, I went away for about a month, and when I came back, I found that DCS no longer starts. I get the updater checking for updates, then nothing. No error messages, lockups or anything, it just simply stays on the desktop. I have made no changes, less the update that ran when I first got back, and DCS worked great before I left. I've tried a clean reinstall (though admittedly I'm not sure all the old files were cleared off), and I've tried what was suggested in the thread below. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=171294 Still nothing. I did update to Windows 10 recently, but DCS did work after I initially updated. It seems the only thing that changed was the DCS update when I got back from my month away. Sandman1330 Posted August 3, 2016 Author Posted August 3, 2016 As an update to my situation: I reverted DCS back to 1.5.3, and it started up just fine. I am now re-updating to see what happens... Sandman1330 Posted August 3, 2016 Author Posted August 3, 2016 So as stated above, reverting to 1.5.3 allowed me to run it again. Updating back to the latest stable version has again broken it. I've run several repairs already, and even done a full reinstall. I'll try investigating the headtracking DLLs. Ryzen 7 5800X3D / Asus Crosshair VI Hero X370 / Corsair H110i / Sapphire Nitro+ 6800XT / 32Gb G.Skill TridentZ 3200 / Samsung 980 Pro M.2 / Virpil Warbrd base + VFX and TM grips / Virpil CM3 Throttle / Saitek Pro Combat pedals / Reverb G2
Sandman1330 Posted August 3, 2016 Author Posted August 3, 2016 And that did it - it was the headtracker DLLs. Thx for the help! Mecrutio Posted February 4, 2018 Posted February 4, 2018 Bump. I can verify today that this has worked for the 2.5 OB. For reference, I use TrackNOIR. I deleted 3 files with headtracker in them. .dll, .log, and .pref. Probably overkill but it did work. Thank you for the info! Gigabyte Tech. 990FXA-UD3, AMD FX-8350 8 Core, 16 Gig RAM @ 2200 Mhz, Radeon X480, Oculus Rift
Alpine1 Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 I have had the same problem for some time now, where do I find the headtracker dll files? Thanks.

ED Team BIGNEWY Posted April 12, 2018 ED Team Posted April 12, 2018 Hi Alpine1 are you sure those are the correct logs, last log was from 2017, correct? If you are unable to start DCS at all go for a complete wipe and start fresh is the best advice. your last log shows dcs is starting ok and is on 1.5.7.11762 Forum rules - DCS Crashing?
