VTJS17_Fire Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 Hi, before DCS 1.5 the contrails were fix at round about 25.500 feet. Since DCS 1.5/ 2.0 they are variable, sometimes 21.000 ft., sometimes 24.000 ft.. What affects their height? QNH? And is there a static table/file at which QNH(?) their height is set or is it generated dynamic? Thanks in advance. kind regards, Fier Hardware: Intel i5 4670K | Zalman NPS9900MAX | GeIL 16GB @1333MHz | Asrock Z97 Pro4 | Sapphire Radeon R9 380X Nitro | Samsung SSDs 840 series 120GB & 250 GB | Samsung HD204UI 2TB | be quiet! Apache600 Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 Temperature. lower temp, lower contrail level. At least that's what I found. Ktulu2 Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 Humidity should also be a factor, though not sure it's in game. In 1.5 they vary a lot : The lower I had them was around 3000' (crazy cold weather) and the highest something like 30 000' in nevada in hot weather. I do DCS videos on youtube : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAs8VxtXRJHZLnKS4mKunnQ?view_as=public

IvanK Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 (edited) Great that there is some variation in Chem trails .... dont forget Coriolis as a factor.... Of course we know those nasty Chemtrailers turn them on and off at will ! Edited August 5, 2016 by IvanK
