TEWS / NCTR codes

I killed a couple of planes in my F15c but the game crashed before the end when I was going to have a look at the chat and i'm wondering what they were and if anyone can help,

On my TEWS it said 29 - so I assume mig 29's. But I read about NCTR and on looking at a vid I recorded it says P or F15 - which I guess is an F15?

It was just as i'd been following 29 signals so made the assumption but guess it could of been a coincidence

Is the NCTR code for an F15c - F15 (and there's no such thing as a P15 code?). Or could it be possible that the 29 signal was actually an F15c?

The RWR code for an F-15C is 15 with a ^ above it

The RWR code for a SA-15 SAM radar is 15

The RWR code for a Patriot SAM radar is P

I was following a 29 signal, which can be a su 27 or mig 29 I understand, but what about NCTR codes? ie. when you have a target locked in STT mode - I read the 'NCTR' bottom left on the radar tells you what's locked and sure it said p15/f15 (hard to read)

Could you have had another F-15 locked? Next time try zooming in closer on your radar to see what it says you have locked.

if your radar says its locked onto a f15 then its locked onto an f15 simple as that

there arent any funky code names or anything for what you lock up on the radar if nctr can id it at all it will spell it out clearly if its a su27 or f15 or c135 so dont overthink it

Yup.. it was probably a F-15 with his radar of behind the SU-27. Flanker pilots sometimes ask you to turn the radar off so they can have better SA on their RWR. So you probably only seen 1 radar contact but only the other plane was emitting.

Go in close, and when you think you are too close, go in closer.

Cheers all. On reading about NCTR - the "codes" weren't clear (nor the code on my vid). They weren't clear as there is no short code - it just states the planes name! And in hindsight I think I was lucky to kill those two F15's. They must of been out of scope or had their radar's off and flying close to the 29 signals I was following (su27 or mig29). They would of also seen me the whole time on their TWCS's as my radar was on trying to catch those 29 signals. Never crossed my mind that F15c pilots would turn their radars off as I understood they've got the best so will always see first (mig21bis fair enough)

While the Eagle's RADAR is vastly superior to that of older fighters like the MiG-21, and offers advantages over those in the Flanker or Fulcrum with respect to tracking multiple targets, the detection range when properly configured is comparable.

Don't count on seeing the bad guys first if you're up against other 4th generation aircraft or you might wind up with a nasty surprise from a Flanker who sneaks under your blaring RADAR and lets an R-27ET fly. :)

depends on the range remember that the swath of sky a radar sees gets exponentially smaller as range decreases so its possible they had their radars on but you were close enough to be outside their radar's field of view

ofc im just spewing generalities without having seen any recordings

you should just tacview it up if your interested in ever really finding out what happened
