WelshZeCorgi Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 Hi. I'd like to build something like the picture below and would like any help determining materials and processes required to make a stick extension.
Thadiun Okona Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 Here's mine, made from a Cougar stem, a Gardena hose fitting, a copper fitting, and some scrap aluminum. I used breadboard jumpers to bridge the Cougar plug to the Warthog mini-DIN. Between the rear offset and fed pitch, the stick is pretty well mass balanced now. Length -15cm Rear offset -50mm Fwd pitch angle - 7deg
Brewnix Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 (edited) Hello just wanted to share my EXT I made from PVC not as tall as you want but I post a few pics maybe this would help. I used the Gardina hose kit to screw to the handle and the Base. This is a good find and metal nut are good solid metal and the plastic adapter is pretty strong too. Found it by this poster on SIMHQ http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3269689/1 https://www.amazon.com/Gardena-39035-8-Inch-Garden-Connector/dp/B002VED3KW/ref=sr_1_6?s=lawn-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1438187960&sr=1-6&keywords=gardena+metal+connector And I use 12' long 3/4in straight piece of PVC cut to right size of coarse. 2x45's I cut the grey adapter to fit the base of the grip and use the Hose nut to to tie screw to the base.. I took a coupler used a file rasp technically for wood and filed a chamfer to one end glued and cut it down so it would create a flange for the hose nut grab. Then I took the grey adapter cut one side and dug out the center alittle so it would fit in base of the Grip. Then I Glue it with some clear JB weld for Plastic. So personally I don't like this spring solution but it works for now. And there out of the way. But my goal is to figure out a spring loaded damper solution. Like a few joystick I have seen. Or something. ANd I didn't modify the grip or base I can put it back to original' The cord was this thread S-video to 5 pin mod By Metalnwood, Well I added the DuPont connectors to make it easy to reattach cause once I got the grip screw on tight it was a pain to keep unplugging so the middle connector makes it a easy take apart from the base only. Maybe not needed. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=65881&page=4 Edited August 10, 2016 by Brewnix [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
